Seth Lakeman has joined the line-up for a night of Folk atthis year's Eden Sessions.

Seth Lakeman
Seth, who performed on the Biotik stage as part of last year's Primal Scream Session, has released six albums, included 2004's Mercury-nominated Kitty Jay and his latest offering Tales from the Barrel House.

Gathering inspiration from his roots, Dartmoor-based Seth went so far as to record one track from Tales from the Barrel House inside a disused Westcountry copper mine. The rest of the songs were created at Morwellham Quay, a mining port on the north bank of the River Tamar, whose cooperage provided the album's title.

Martin Williams, Marketing Director at the Eden Project, said, "I'm always amazed by the sheer energy of Seth's performances. He's a brilliant addition to what will be a day of outstanding music from both well-loved names and fresh-faces on the folk scene."

Seth joins a folk filled line-up that includes Frank Turner headlining, with Stornoway, Bellowhead, and Mull Historical Society, also confirmed for that day, with other acts yet to be announced.

They folk sessioners join a bill that features Tim Minchin (Saturday 23 June), Example and Devlin (Saturday 30 June), Plan B (Friday 6 July) and Blink 182 (Sunday 8 July - SOLD OUT). More acts will be announced soon.

Martin Williams, Eden's Marketing Director, said, "This is a great line-up of some of the top acts on the folk scene and adds to what is probably our most diverse Eden Sessions line-up yet. There aren't many other summer music events with folk, punk, dance, hip-hop, soul and comedy on the bill!

"We still have more announcements to come as well, watch out for more top acts set to bring even more diverse sounds to the Eden Sessions in the coming weeks."

Eden Sessions have become more like a one-day festival, with three stages and acts playing from early afternoon on each day.

Tickets are priced at £35 and will go on sale at at 6pm on Tuesday 20th March when eFestivals will have links for you to buy them. Every Sessions ticket includes entry to Eden on the day of the show or the day after.
