The Isle of Wight Festival is to have it's very own beach on site this year.

The idea is something festival boss John Giddings has been talking about for sometime, when he was interviewed for eFestivals last year, (here), he told us, "I'm trying to get someone to sponsor it at the moment, I've found out where to get the sand from. It could happen, the inland beach could occur."

Now Boxfresh, the street wear brand, has joined forces with the festival for it's 10th birthday celebrations by turning up the summer vibe and adding the urban beach - Œ'Life's a Beach' will take festival goers to the seaside without them having to leave the Festival site.

Tonnes of sand is being delivered to Penny Lane on the festival site to create the festival beach. Offering a space for festival goers to relax, unwind, re-energise and build sandcastles. The beach will have deckchairs, beach huts and a full programme of activities including exercise classes, beach yoga & zumba, by day and at night DJs, live music, and fire jugglers will take over.

Boxfresh marketing manager, Matt Winton, said, "We are very proud to be a partner of the Isle of Wight Festival 2011, we believe that it is an outstanding UK festival, combining an incredible line-up, unique atmosphere and the picturesque surroundings of the Isle of Wight. Our involvement in the festival is a completely natural fit for Boxfresh and will help to create wider awareness of the brand's continued support for independent and new music both in the UK and increasingly around the world."

The line-up for the main stages at the festival is now complete, and tickets for this year's festival from Friday 10th until Sunday 12th June 2011 at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight have already all gone.

Kings Of Leon will headline the Friday, Foo Fighters and the reformed Pulp appear on Saturday, and Kasabian closing the festival on Sunday, with The British Pink Floyd Show headlining the Big Top on Saturday, and The Manic Street Preachers on Sunday. Other acts include Tom Jones, Jeff Beck, Beady Eye, The Script, Plan B, Public Image Ltd. (PiL), Cast, Hadouken!, Nick Lowe, and more.
