The first wave of acts including the main stage headliner Kissmet have been announced for Pulse Festival which returns for a second year to raise money and awareness for the Children's Heart Unit at Southampton General Hospital.

Kissmet
Joining Kissmet who will bring a melting pot of east meets west flavours to Pulse Festival will be Subgiant, Pronghorn, Heathward, The Widowmaker, Stir of Echoes, and Waterside Ukulele Jam.

There are many, many more acts to be announced across both live stages, and Pulse have also confirmed that Grant Sharkey will return as main stage compare for the day.

Pulse offers a day of music, food and festivities with two stages of some of the best live music and a complete farmer's market with fine food and beer. Kids entertainment, including, bouncy castles, face painting, tractor rides and lots more. The event originally planned as a one of event was so well received that organisers are now planning another to take place on the same weekend this year, Saturday 3rd September 2011 at Sunnyfields Farm, Southampton, in Hampshire.

As well as named acts the festival will draw on the bristling South Coast live scene. As last year, the music will be eclectic, interesting and spot on for a good old knees up. Band and artist submissions are now open, so if you would like the chance to play on one of the two fantastic stages please see the website for details.

Tickets will be released on 1st April 2011 with early bird tickets priced at £12 for adults, with children aged 0-16 years able to attend for free. The normal price in advance will be: Adults £15, Children (5-16yrs) £7.50, Under 5's Free.

The festival is not going to change format hugely this year, there will be two live music stages, one outdoor and one in a marquee, great food and drink as well as the superb children's area that was so popular last year. The second stage is going to be beefed up and another field will be opened up to provide some space to chillout and escape the crowds.

Children are the inspiration behind this festival and so there will be all sorts for the children to do from face painting to juggling, story telling to tai chi.

Pulse Festival has been set up with a clear purpose in mind and that is to raise money and awareness for the Children's Heart Unit in Southampton known as Ocean Ward. The Festival is organised by Mark Ward and Olly Maw (Subgiant). Both have young children with Congenital Heart Disease who have both had life saving treatment at the unit in Southampton. But it's not just Mark & Olly, this festival has a whole team of dedicated friends and supporters behind it.

All profits raised by this festival will be donated to Wessex Heartbeat and Friends of PICU, charities who directly support Ocean Ward and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
