The event, originally planned as a one-off event, was so well received that organisers are now planning another to take place on the same weekend this year, Saturday 3rd September 2011 at Sunnyfields Farm, Southampton, in Hampshire.

Line-up

Acts confirmed include Kissmet, Subgiant, Pronghorn, Kangaroo Moon, Heathward, Rebel Control, Innamorati, The Widowmaker, Stir Of Echoes, Achilles, Saturday Sun, Dirty Rouge, Waterside Ukulele Jam, Grant Sharkey, DJ Envious Mind, and Alex The Kid. For the line-up details as available please click here.

As well as named acts the festival will draw on the bristling South Coast live scene. As last year, the music will be eclectic, interesting and spot on for a good old knees up. Band and artist submissions are now open, so if you would like the chance to play on one of the two fantastic stages please see the website for details.

Tickets

Early bird tickets have sold out. Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, children (10-16yrs) tickets are priced at £7.50, with under 10's Free. To buy tickets, click here.

What to expect this year

The festival is not going to change format hugely this year, there will be two live music stages, one outdoor and one in a marquee, great food and drink as well as the superb children's area that was so popular last year. The second stage is going to be beefed up and another field will be opened up to provide some space to chillout and escape the crowds.

Food & drink

The festival is held at Sunnyfields Farm who have a cafe and host a farmer's market every weekend. The Farm are pioneers of the Food & More Project and it is this project which has enabled the festival to happen. The project is all about farms being more than just places that grow food, which means things like music can happen too.

The Village Bells

This year the bar will be the local pub which is going up sticks and move onsite for the duration. The Village Bells will be selling a fine selection of local Ales, Ciders and Wines all at normal pub prices.

Kids

Children are the inspiration behind this festival and so there will be all sorts for the children to do from glump out - fun science, mono printing, story telling, tai chi, Pimp my Scrap, Face Painting, Tractor Rides, Nail Bar, Crazy Creatures, Hats'n'Masks, The Large Large Collage and lot's more.

Ethos

Pulse Festival has been set up with a clear purpose in mind and that is to raise money and awareness for the Children's Heart Unit in Southampton known as Ocean Ward. The Festival is organised by Mark Ward and Olly Maw (Subgiant). Both have young children with Congenital Heart Disease who have both had life saving treatment at the unit in Southampton. But it's not just Mark & Olly, this festival has a whole team of dedicated friends and supporters behind it.

Fund raising

All profits raised by this festival will be donated to Wessex Heartbeat and Friends of PICU, charities who directly support Ocean Ward and the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Accommodation

This event does not have camping but there are a number of hotels, hostels and guest houses in the area.

More information will be here when available.
