eFestivals can exclusively reveal The Waterboys will headline this year's Wychwood Festival 2011.

The Waterboys
The Waterboys will be headlining the Main Stage on Saturday. Taking to the stage after Sunday headliner Ian Anderson will be Wychwood favourites Transglobal Underground delivering some eclectic world dance music as the sun sets over the seventh Wychwood Festival.

Other main Stage additions we can reveal are Cornershop renowned for their indie anthem 'Brimful of Asher', and The Travelling Band on Friday. Oxford locals The Epstein air their folk songs on Saturday, and Idlewild lead singer Roddy Woomble will take to the stage on Sunday.

Wychwood kids will be pleased to hear that Justin Fletcher aka Mr Tumble makes a return to the Main Stage on Sunday morning to wake festival goers up. Bring your best singalong voices, dancing feet, and your favourite fancy dress costumes.

There's also a Big Top line-up addition with Jali Fily Cissokho joining the bill on Saturday.

We can also announce the first acts for the comedy line-up with Tony Law, Silky, and Sol Bernstein announced.

They join the previously confirmed The Charlatans headlining Friday, and Ian Anderson headlining Sunday, as well as Robyn Hitchcock paying tribute to Captain Beefheart, 3 Daft Monkeys, Delta Maid, ahab, The Beetroot Kings Elfynn, The Wurzels, Norma Waterson and Eliza Carthy with The Gift Band, and Neville Staple with many more still to be announced.

As always, Wychwood is a festival of not only music, but crammed full of other things to see and do, from comedy to cinema, and from workshops to the healing gardens. The Children's Lit Fest also has a new addition with author Philip Ardagh (Grubtown Tales), joining children's books authors Ian Whybrow, Cathy Hopkins, Judith Kerr, Jeremy Strong and illustrator Korky Paul who were already confirmed.

The workshop and activities area promises lots of new things this year to involve, engage and inspire all ages. Brand new additions for 2011 include Lindy Hop, Jazz and Flamenco dance workshops, Jazz Music workshops for kids, traditional Punch and Judy and Board Games sessions. Tallulah Swirls puppet theatre will be one not to miss and there will be Musical Theatre and Drama workshops too. Junk4Funk will be creating instruments and performing with them alongside lantern making for the parade.

Wychwood will also welcome back some favourites - Belly Dance, the Circus Workshop and Static Trapeze, lots of Making workshops, the Acoustic Jam and The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre with their amazing Storyelling and Crafts.

The festival returns for the seventh year to Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire from Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th June and has just launched their new website at www.wychwoodfestival.com.
