Now in its fifth year, Red Bull Bedroom Jam competition, the weekly live music webcast returns on the lookout for eight fresh bands to appear at festivals throughout the summer.

This year the digital platform for aspiring musicians will offer bands, (with at least one member under the age of 22), the chance of joining the Bedroom Jam tour with appearances at Sonisphere, Download, T in the Park, Hevy and Underage festivals, plus a recording session at the Red Bull Studios London and the chance to support an established band on a major UK tour.

2010's winner You And What Army spent two weeks at the studio and then joined Kids In Glass Houses for their UK Tour. Front man Kieran described his experience as "a once in a lifetime opportunity... that's taken the band to the next level. Having gone from performing a show in my bedroom to playing Shepherd's Bush Empire, it's been a phenomenal year."

Red Bull Bedroom Jam launched in September 2007 with a live gig online by Kerrang! award nominees, Youmeatsix. This has been followed by several performances around the UK from other young bands including, My Passion, Saving Aimee, Area 15, Furthest Drive Home, Linchpin, Lyrikal Squad, Lil Rascals and Maverik.

Bands wanting to get involved can upload their videos to the Red Bull Bedroom Jam site. 15 bands will then be chosen using the Buzz Radar system to play live shows live from their bedrooms every Monday at 5pm.

8 bands will be chosen by this year's judges: Andy Copping, Vice President of Live Nation, Beckie Sugden of The Agency Group and Aled Phillips of Kids In Glass Houses to continue to the Festival Stage.

At the end of the festival season 3 finalists will be chosen by the judges. The final 3 will then go head to head in a public vote to see who walks away as the Bedroom Jam Champion.

Bands wanting to enter should head to redbullbedroomjam.com for more details and to upload their entry videos.

The first live show will air at 5pm on 21/02/2011.
