The Beat lead the first acts to be announced for next summer's family friendly Sunrise Celebration taking place from Thursday 2nd until Sunday 5th June 2011 at Lilcombe Farm near Bruton, an organic farm in South Somerset.

The Beat
Joining The Beat on the line-up of some of the best new talent and old favourites are Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit, System 7, The Travelling Band, Seize The Day, Zen Elephant, Mankala, The Peoples String Foundation, Tin Roots, Gabby Young and Other Animals, Cocos Lovers, Extra Curricular, and many more to follow.

Dan Hurring, Sunrise organiser said, "Sunrise has always been about pushing the boundaries, showcasing talent and art which is at the cutting edge of culture and stepping into the new age of green evolution. More and more people are coming to the festival every year, many of them cynics, and falling in love with one of the few remaining totally independent festivals. The heart and originality of Sunrise inspire many to change their lives in small or big ways and everyone, from London city workers to hardcore greenies, can come together, learn new skills and discuss important planetary issues while enjoying a great party."

2011 will see the introduction of the 'Elemental Stage' a new outdoor stage in the Carnival Field - which along with the Chai Wallahs main indoor stage and the 7 other smaller stages will be host to some great headline acts to be announced throughout the coming months.

There will also be theatre, cabaret, slam poetry, permaculture gardens, alternative technology work shops, solar cinema, sauna, hot tubs, tipi circle, sustainable living talks, workshops, healing sanctuary, central fire, walkabout performance, performance art, non-musical presentations, dress-up mayhem, dance, art installations, ethical fashion, eco innovations, and organic food and drink.
