Eli 'Paperboy' Reed and the True Loves have cancelled their appearance at the twin V Festivals.

The Brooklyn based soul revivalists were announced on the line-up for the Virgin Media Union stage, however they have released the following statement on the band's facebook page, here:
Hey guys,

Unfortunately we are going to be unable to perform at the shows we had listed at the end of August in the UK and Europe. These include Lowlands Festival, V Fest and Liquid Rooms. In actuality these were never confirmed but promoters of festivals have a way of announcing things before artists actually give the say-so.

It is very costly to tour with an 8 piece band and unfortunately our flight costs for those 4 shows made it financially impossible to do them. I hope you guys understand I promise we'll be back in your neck of the woods sooner rather than later.

-Eli

Festival organisers have not yet confirmed that the band have pulled out, and it is more likely that the booking agent is to blame rather than the festival itself.

The twin-sited V Festival takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, Essex and Weston Park, Staffordshire on Saturday 21st and 22nd August 2010 this year.

Kings of Leon will headline Chelmsford on the Saturday and Stafford on the Sunday, and Kasabian will headline Staffordshire on the Saturday, and Chelmsford on the Sunday. Also confirmed as playing are Stereophonics, Faithless, The Prodigy, David Guetta, The Kooks, Paul Weller, Paolo Nutini, Florence And The Machine, Pet Shop Boys, Madness, Editors, White Lies, Mika, Groove Armada, The Courteeners, The Charlatans, The Temper Trap, Amy Macdonald, Goldfrapp, and more.
