new additions to the 1000 capacity festival

The Joy Formidable, and White Rabbits are amongst the latest acts to be announced for Truck America the festival put together by Truck Festival organisers.

The Joy Formidable
Founders Joe and Robin Bennett have announced a line-up of independent and roots artists from both sides of the Atlantic. These include The Joy Formidable, Brooklyn's White Rabbits, and the doomy majesty of Hopewell, Joshua Tree country-rockert Tim Easton and Canada's The Sadies.

Brit Neil Halstead of Slowdive/Mojave 3, American folksters Mike & Ruthy, and Ida will be join Robin & Joe's new project Dusty And The Dreaming Spires amongst the first names to be confirmed for three stages (The Barn, The Roadhouse and the Main stage, in a large heated tent) of aural entertainment over the weekend of Friday 30th April until Sunday 2nd May 2010 at Full Moon Resort, Catskills Mountains, New York State, in the USA.

Also confirmed for the three day, 1000 capacity festival are Cat Martino, The Silent League, Common Prayer, The Oxygen Ponies, Brandon Patton, Atlantic/Pacific, The Shoe String Band, and the previously announced headliner Mercury Rev who will be performing a career retrospective selection of favourite tracks.

The festival is not just about watching bands. There will also be workshops, films, kids activities and jam sessions, and a healthy dose of English style camping for those who don't book a room.

Truck festival in Oxfordshire has run for 13 years inspired by America's Woodstock Festival and the festival is positioned 2 hours north of New York city and 3 hours from Toronto (and actually 30 miles closer to Woodstock than the original festival was) they are aiming to make it a 1000 capacity festival.
