Ether line-up announced for 2010

Gil Scott Heron, Stereo MC's, The Bays, Speech Debelle, BEAK>, and more join the previously announced Lou Reed's Metal Machine Trio at this year's Ether 2010.

The preliminary line-up for Ether has been announced with Stereo MC's vs The Bays, Gil Scott Heron, Speech Debelle, Broadcast, Micachu and The Shapes, Oliver Coates, Health, Chrome Hoof, The London Philharmonic Orchestra, Chris Cunningham, BEAK>, Will Dutta, Plaid, Max De Wardener, and John Richards all confirmed to join Lou Reed's Metal Machine Trio for the ninth edition, held from Friday 9th until Saturday 24th April at the Southbank Centre, London.

Once again, technological pioneers and musical innovators past and present take over Southbank Centre for a series of concerts, talks and strange collaborations that could happen nowhere else including performances of the complete works of the French composer Edgard Varèse over one weekend and the world premiere of Henryk Górecki's Symphony No. 4 by The London Philharmonic Orchestra who also play music by Turnage, and Glass with conductor Marin Alsop.

The confirmed line-up is as follows:

Fri 16 April - Edgard Varèse, 360 Degrees (Queen Elizabeth Hall)
Fri 16 April - Stereo MC's vs The Bays, + The Herbaliser (Royal Festival Hall)
Mon 19 April - Lou Reed's Metal Machine Trio (Royal Festival Hall)
Tue 20 April - Gil Scott-Heron, Speech Debelle (Royal Festival Hall)
Wed 21 April - Broadcast, Micachu & The Shapes, Oliver Coates (Queen Elizabeth Hall)
Thu 22 April - Health, Chrome Hoof (Queen Elizabeth Hall)
Thu 22 April - Glass, Gorecki And Turnage (Royal Festival Hall)
Fri 23 April - Chris Cunningham, Beak (Royal Festival Hall)
Sat 24 April - Will Dutta, Plaid, Max De Wardener, John Richards (Purcell Room)

Ticket prices have not yet been confirmed, tickets will go on sale at 10am tomorrow, Friday 29th January, and eFestivals will have links to buy them then.
