Truck and Wood combined SuperTrucker tickets on sale

Oxfordshire's Truck and Wood festivals are offering a combined SuperTrucker ticket which allows festival goers access to both of the festivals.

The combined ticket offers a weekend at the thirteenth Truck festival which takes place over the weekend of Friday 23rd until Sunday 25th July 2010, and it's folkier greener brother Wood which happens from Friday 21st until Sunday 23rd May 2010. The early bird combined ticket offers a saving of £30.

SuperTrucker Tickets are on sale, and as last year, kids go free (under 14 accompanied by an adult). An adult weekend ticket to both events is priced at £120 and Junior (for those aged 13 - 17 years) tickets are priced at £95. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a paying adult, max 2 per adult, and still need tickets.

Now acts have been confirmed yet for either event. Truck takes place at Steventon, near Abingdon, Oxfordshire and is a blend of village fete and Woodstock, free of any sponsorship or corporate agenda. It's about music, community and being outdoors. Founded by Robin and Joe Bennett on a farm within a welly wang from their family home, it now attracts over 5,000 revellers. Well known for a DIY attitude and for spotting the next big thing first, Truck has seen the likes of everyone from Ash to The Lemonheads to Garth Hudson grace its stages. With a strong charitable ethos (the Rotary Club flip burgers and the vicar sells ice-creams) the event has raised thousands for local and national causes.

Wood is Trucks's folkier, younger, cleaner and greener younger brother. Created after the floods of 2007 it's a celebration of music and nature in the beautiful surroundings of Braziers Park, in Oxfordshire. It's on of Britain's Greenest festivals - run on completely renewable energy, harnessing the power of the sun, wind as well as the people who attend the event. There are also composting toilets, and a stage made of wood. This year they are piloting the Industry Green standard for the event to measure its carbon footprint and other impacts in tandem with the charity Julie's Bicycle. As well as a strong and diverse line-up of (mainly) acoustic acts on 2 stages, there will be opportunities for everyone (from children to grandparents!) to participate, with workshops covering singing, woodcraft, making wallets from orange juice cartons, and everything in between.
