Shirley Bassey, and Robbie Williams have been announced as the final headliners for this year's BBC Electric Proms line-up.

Shirley Bassey
Singer Dame Shirley Bassey will grace the Roundhouse stage on Friday 23rd October with performance which will celebrate her 50 year career. Dame Shirley will be performing some of her most famous tracks alongside new songs from her forthcoming album, 'The Performance'. Dame Shirley will be joined on stage by the BBC Concert Orchestra for her only live show this year.

Dame Shirley Bassey said, "What I'm most looking forward to at the BBC Electric Proms is performing songs from my new album 'The Performance' for the first time - it really will be a special moment for me."

Robbie Williams plays The Roundhouse on the opening night, on Tuesday 20th October, and will be accompanied by a string section, horn section and full band. The show features new material from Robbie's forthcoming album 'Reality Killed the Video Star' alongside some classic tracks, under the musical direction of Trevor Horn.

This is Robbie's first show since that epic Close Encounters tour in 2006 and represents a rare opportunity to see a total entertainer play a unique, intimate show. Robbie says, "I'm looking forward to playing my new songs, working with Trevor Horn again and seeing how people react to what I've been doing."

Tickets for Robbie Williams and Dame Shirley Bassey concerts will go on sale at 8am Wednesday 23rd September.

The line-up includes the previously announced Metronomy, Florence and the Machine, Doves with The London Bulgarian Choir, Magazine, Dizzee Rascal, The Heritage Orchestra, The Young Punx, and Smokey Robinson with BBC Concert Orchestra. The BBC Electric Proms festival will take place from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th October 2009 at The Roundhouse and various venues around Camden, London.
