The BBC Electric Proms festival will take place from Tuesday 20th to Saturday 24th of October 2009.

The idea for this event is to allow artists to perform something a bit different, whether it be a performance of rare tracks, a unique collaboration or a cross bridging of genres.

Line-up

The line-up is as follows:
The Roundhouse
Tuesday 20th October - Robbie Williams.
Wednesday 21st October - Dizzee Rascal, The Heritage Orchestra and The Young Punx.
Thursday 22nd October - Doves with The London Bulgarian Choir, Magazine.
Friday 23rd October - Dame Shirley Bassey with BBC Concert Orchestra, and Richard Hawley.
Saturday 24th October - Smokey Robinson with BBC Concert Orchestra.

Studio Theatre
Thursday 22nd October - Metronomy and Florence and the Machine
Film makers were invited to submit ideas for inventive and original short films inspired by tracks from Metronomy and Florence and the Machine earlier this year. The successful commissions will be premiered at the BBC Electric Proms alongside performances from both bands.

The rest of the line-up is due to be announced shortly.

BBC New Music Shorts tickets for Metronomy, and Florence & the Machine are offered free by registering online until 4pm on Friday 2 October go to www.bbc.co.uk/electricproms for more details. All successful applicants will be randomly drawn, there is a maximum of two tickets per household. Please note that the minimum age is 16 for both the ticket holder their guest.
