Scots rockers Idlewild front the latest dollop of acts announced to play at South West Scotland's Wickerman Festival.

Joining the Main Stage entertainment is New York based Folk Metal band O'Death, and Norwich band The Kabeedies, who have secured a Main Stage slot on Saturday 25th July.

The Scooter Stage also sees its share of new acts with Bombskare, Root System, The Amphetameanies, Berry Tweed and the Chasers, and Torrents added to the line-up.

Festival Director Sid Ambrose said, "2009 sees the Wickerman heading for its strongest line-up to date. The Dance Tents and Acoustic Stage have still to make their announcements whilst the Main Stage still has a surprise act up its sleeve."

The friendly laid-back family orientated festival takes place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of July 2009 on farmland, near Dundrennan, South West Scotland.

The Human League will headline the Friday night, The Zutons close the Saturday night, and Candi Staton plays the Sunday night. Plus Billy Bragg, Dreadzone, Zion Train, Utah Saints, The Dickies, Kid British, Pearl and the Puppets, Luva Anna, We Were Promised Jetpacks, UK Subs, Goldblade, Anti Product, No 1 Station, More From Jim, The Bum-Clocks, and Penetration. There are many more acts still to be confirmed, expect over 100 acts in total.

Other attractions planned for this the 8th Wickerman Festival include a comedy tent featuring Phil Kay, a 24 hour Burnsathon, festival golf, mountain biking, and the ceremonial torching of a giant Wickerman.

In addition to the Solus and Main stage the Wickerman boasts a Scooter tent featuring old skool punk and ska, an Acoustic Village, a military themed Dance Village, an outdoor cinema, Reggae Soundsystem and Children's Area.

An adult weekend ticket (age 16+) is priced at £80. This year sees a new 'concession weekend ticket' for those Age 13-15 which is priced at £40 available exclusively online until Wednesday 1st July (after which full adult price will apply). Child weekend tickets are free for those aged 0-12. An adult (age 13+) Saturday day ticket is available priced at £53, and child (age 0-12) Saturday tickets are free. Campervan tickets iare priced at £25, with a family only area option also available, at the same price.
