Sonisphere has released details of a deposit scheme available for those wanting to buy tickets in instalments.

Metallica
Festival organisers say the decision was taken after success of the Glastonbury Festival deposit scheme and the announcement that both Bestival events have also introduced a similar scheme.

The scheme, which has received positive feedback from fans, allows Knebworth festival goers to pay for the festival in instalments. An initial payment £40 secures a weekend ticket.

The deposit scheme is available on both weekend and weekend camping ticket options for a limited time only. The deposit scheme will be available until the end of April or until the ticket allocation is fully subscribed.

The full balance on tickets plus any extras such as car parking, early arrival, lockers etc must then be paid by Tuesday 30th June 2009. Any balances not paid off by 30th June will result in the ticket being released for general sale and the deposit forfeited.

Weekend tickets are priced at £132.50, or £157.50 with camping. Lockers are priced at £10, and parking is also £10 in advance or £20 on the day. And early arrival camping entry ticket is priced at £10, and tickets for camper vans are priced at £40.

The event will have one main arena with a stage at either end. The headliners are Linkin Park, and Metallica, with the already announced Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, (for all of the previous acts this is the only outdoor show they are playing in the UK in 2009), Alice in Chains, Bullet For My Valentine, Thin Lizzy, The Sword, Mastodon and Lamb Of God in support. The festival will have camping at Knebworth with the campsite open for arrivals from 3pm on Thursday, and checkout at midday on Monday. The event will also offer festival goers a cinema, a fair, market, jugglers, and the usual festival offerings. There will also be a campsite stage with new bands and DJ sets as well. The festival does not have a strict noise curfew, and so entertainment will run until late.
