Nine Inch Nails announced for Sonisphere

Nine Inch Nails, lead the four new acts confirmed today for Sonisphere line-up.

Anthrax, Airbourne, and Killing Joke, are the latest confirmed additions to the line-up for the festival held at Hertfordshire's Knebworth House on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd August 2009.

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian said, "We are really excited to be making our only UK appearance at Sonisphere. We've been anticipating our return to the UK and we are honoured to be a part of this amazing line-up. It's also going to be Dan Nelson's first UK gig and what better way to show him off than on this show?! Leave it to Metallica to create what I will wager is going to be THE festival of the year. See you at Sonisphere and get ready for a full-on Anthrax attack!!!"

Aussie rockers Airbourne, making their only UK festival appearance this summer added, "We are really excited to be rockin' Sonisphere 09 at such a classic venue as Knebworth House. We can't wait to get back to the UK again & we are honoured to be sharing the stage with the legendary Metallica. Stand up for Rock n' Roll!"

This is the only Sonisphere festival in Europe that Nine Inch Nails will play in Europe.
Weekend tickets are priced at £132.50, or £157.50 with camping. Lockers are priced at £10, and parking is also £10 in advance or £20 on the day. And early arrival camping entry ticket is priced at £10, and tickets for camper vans are priced at £40.

The event will have one main arena with a stage at either end. The headliners are Linkin Park, and Metallica, with the already announced Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Head, (for all of the previous acts this is the only outdoor show they are playing in the UK in 2009), Alice in Chains, Bullet For My Valentine, Thin Lizzy, The Sword, Mastodon and Lamb Of God in support. The festival will have camping at Knebworth with the campsite open for arrivals from 3pm on Thursday, and checkout at midday on Monday. The event will also offer festival goers a cinema, a fair, market, jugglers, and the usual festival offerings. There will also be a campsite stage with new bands and DJ sets as well. The festival does not have a strict noise curfew, and so entertainment will run until late.
