The Human League, and The Zutons are to top the billing at Scotland's Wickerman Festival.

Sheffield synth-pop pioneers The Human League will headline the Friday night, and indie rockers The Zutons close the Saturday night.

In addition to the headline acts the first names to play the festival also include an exclusive Scottish festival performance from Billy Bragg, festival favourites Dreadzone, and Zion Train, along with old skool ska and punk from the UK Subs, and Penetration.

Other attractions planned for this the 8th Wickerman Festival include a comedy tent featuring Phil Kay, a 24 hour Burnsathon, festival golf, mountain biking, kilts and camouflage fancy dress theme and the ceremonial torching of a giant Wickerman.

Festival co-ordinator Helen Chalmers said, "The festival team hope everyone will be as delighted with the first announcement as we are and we promise that there is much more to come with over 100 acts still to be announced."

The friendly laid-back family orientated Wickerman festival takes place on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of July 2009 on farmland, near Dundrennan, South West Scotland.

An adult weekend ticket (age 16+) is priced at £80. This year sees a new 'concession weekend ticket' for those Age 13-15 which is priced at £40 available exclusively online until Wednesday 1st July (after which full adult price will apply). Child weekend tickets are free for those aged 0-12. An adult (age 13+) Saturday day ticket is available priced at £53, and child (age 0-12) Saturday tickets are free. Campervan tickets iare priced at £25, with a family only area option also available, at the same price.
