The Pogues, Levellers, Hawkwind, and Gong, are amongst the first acts announced for the seventh Beautiful Days festival.

Folk-punk legends The Pogues are headlining the festival on the Saturday night. Headlining the festival on the Friday night are psychedelic space rockers Hawkwind who will mark their 40th anniversary in style at Beautiful Days with a one-off laser and light spectacular. Festival founders Levellers will headline and close the festival, as is traditional, on the Sunday night with a stunning firework finale.

Also performing are Irish punk-rock band The Saw Doctors, Gong featuring the original line-up of Daevid Allen, Steve Hillage, Gilli Smyth, Miquette Giraudy, Chris Taylor, Theo Travis, John McKenzie and Mike Howlett.

Other confirmed acts include he newly reformed Lamb, festival favourites Dreadzone, Simon Emmerson's acclaimed musical project The Imagined Village, Pendulum (DJ set) headlining The Little Big Top, Dub Pistols, Cara Dillon, The King Blues, Eliza Carthy, Imelda May, Lau, Edward II, Kris Drever, John McCusker & Roddy Woomble Trio, John Smith, Sonic Boom Six, Les Truttes, Chris T-T, Jay Jay Pistolet, and Ruarri Joseph.

There will be more confirmed acts to follow soon with the festival's 2009 theme still to be announced for this, the Levellers own festival, which is about people young and old coming together and taking part in something that will be remembered for a long time. The festival has become one of the most popular event, selling out most years.

The dates for the seventh Beautiful Days are confirmed as from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd August at Escot Park, near Fairmile, in Devon.

The festival features music across five stages, and street theatre, as well as site art and sculpture, lots of children's activitiesa huge children’s area in the centre of the festival, theatre, comedy, family camping, camping facilities, licensed bars from local company Otter Brewery, world food, craft stalls, fancy dress, a 'village shop' on site, and more. There is plenty of family camping close to the car parks, which will be clearly signposted.

Tickets for Beautiful Days 2009 are priced as follows.
Adult weekend with camping - £100.00
Aged 10 to under-16 weekend with camping - £60.00
Aged 5 to under-10 weekend with camping - £30.00
Aged 0 to under-5 weekend with camping - £5.00
Campervan pass (must be purchased in advance) - £30.00
Car parking (in advance, more on the gate) - £10.00

The festival will once again be offering free tickets for carers, disabled/flat camping and parking - all of which must be booked in advance.
