Slipknot to headline Download

American metallers Slipknot have now been confirmed as headliners at the heavy rock festival Download.

The Prodigy
Making their return to Download for the first time since 2006 will be rock-ravers The Prodigy , and Los Angeles veteran rockers Motley Crue who last played in 2007. Also announced are Korn with their fifth appearance at Download, Pendulum return again after their debut last year. The line-up announcement is rounded up with six piece power metallers Dragonforce, and California, groove metal band Devildriver return to headline a stage at Download for the very first time.

These are the first acts announced for the rock festival which will have three stages and around 100 bands performing. Download festival returns to Donington Park, Castle Donington, Leicestershire for its seventh year, over the weekend of Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2009.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am this Friday (February 13) from and eFestivals will have links for you to buy them then. Prices are as follows: a full weekend ticket is priced at £135, camping is an extra £25 (family camping is also available), car parking tickets are priced at £10 advance, £20 on the day, camper vans tickets are priced at £40, and lockers will be £11.
