The bars stay open after the entertainment has finished, and running until 2am (Friday to Sunday) they'll be an after-hours Campsite Entertainment Zone, which has a café, beer stall, funfair rides, various shops, and a cinema showing 'Anvil! The Story Of Anvil', and 'Spinal Tap'. Note that you may NOT bring any alcohol onto the site.

Markets include a variety of food from around the world, as well as clothes, jewellery, massages, piercing & tattoos, organic foods, souvenirs, merchandise, chairs, and other stuff.

We do not recommend you bring small children with you to Download. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Ticket buyers have the opportunity to add 50p to their order, with funds being invested in local environmental projects in schools. The Cup Deposit Scheme will continue to run this year, with 20p charged on each cup and £1 returned for 5 cups, these are then recycled. The Beer Cans For Recycling program returns also, offering a free can of beer for every bag of recycling returned to the Campsite Hubs. Any unwanted tents and camping equipment at the end of the weekend can also be handed in here for local scout groups and other charities.

Rock Radio will be broadcasting at Download. The station will be activated from 9am Wednesday 10th June through to 12pm Monday 15th June, and available through the local frequency of 87.7FM.

One change that all festival-goers travelling to Donington should be aware of, is a BAN ON GAS CANISTERS. In the main campsites, ticket holders will not be able to bring in gas canisters or petrol fuelled cookers. Anyone found in possession of a gas cylinder or petrol may be asked to leave.

For the third year in a row, the Leicestershire Constabulary will be using a text messaging and email service aimed at gathering crime prevention information from people coming along this year. The service was launched to encourage festival-goers to give the police information about crime related matters in advance of the event. Anyone with information can text 'police' and then their message to 86688 or email downloadfestival.intel@leicestershire.pnn.co.uk. The information will be treated anonymously and will enable the police into build up a picture, in advance of the event, of any potential trouble.

All vendors will be using biodegradable packaging and wooden utensils across the site to avoid plastic packaging especially polystyrene. Various charities, including Global Cool, Cancer Research and Terrance Higgins Trust, will be onsite providing small-scale entertainment and interaction.

Shuttle Buses will run from Derby and East Midlands Parkway stations regularly from 10 June until 15 June, with a shuttle bus running from the airport at well.
