Bestival 2009 goes into outer space

Bestival which returns to Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, and happens from Friday 11th until Sunday 13th September 2009 has announced the theme for next year's festival.

Festival organiser, Rob da Bank announced, "Its only been 3 months since we peeled off our underwater outfits at Bestival 2008 but we've had so many requests to get on and announce the theme for 2009 that we gave in! I'm tweaking the exact title as we speak but due to popular demand from our ever busy forum and the fact that next year is the 40th anniversary since Man landed on the moon, it's a Space theme - Out of Space, 2009: A Space Oddity, Alien .. You get the gist! So get the needle and thread out, dig out the dressing up box and prepare for lift off!"

As well as the music, Bestival has always had the world's biggest fancy dress party with previous themes including piates, cowboys, and undersea. The festival also offers cocktail bars, laughter clubs, a farmers market, kids area, morris dancing, magical moments and more, as one of the most colourful events on the festival calendar. Hopefully it will have lovely weather in 2009 too.

Tickets for Bestival went on sale briefly at early bird prices, these have sold out. Normal tickets are available priced are as follows:
Adult Tickets: £140. Ticket holders aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*.

Age 13 to 15 Child Tickets: £70. Age 13 to 15 Child Tickets are for anyone aged 13 to 15 on 04/09/2009. Child ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*.

Age 12 & Under Child Tickets: FREE (ticket required) Age 12 & Under Child Tickets are for anyone aged 12 and under on 04/09/2009. Child Ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*.

*NB: One ticket holding parent or guardian can only accompany up to 4 people under the age of 18.

Tickets can also be purchased for a £50 deposit. The balance (£90 for adults, £45 for teens) must be paid for by February 28th 2009. To buy deposit tickets, click here.

Campervan Tickets are £50 (per vehicle). Your Campervan must be specially adapted for people to stay in (which does not include transit vans with a mattress in the back or 4x4s with the seats folded down). If your vehicle is longer than 7 metres you will need to purchase two Campervan Tickets. Cars will not be allowed into the Campervan area at any time so consequentially Caravans, Trailer Tents etc are not permitted.
All Tickets include camping.
