Bearded Theory announces firs acts including Neville Staple, and Rev Hammer

plus Attila the Stockbroker, Eddie & the Hot Rods, Goldblade, and more

The first acts have been announced for Bearded Theory, the fancy dress party with beards, bands and DJs, which returns as a three day event held from Friday 15th to Sunday 17th May 2009. The event has slightly increased in size to a capacity of 1,500 people and all profits from the festival will be going to Oxfam.

The acts announced for 2009 include Andy Robinson, Attila the Stockbroker, Barclay, Bayer, BEZ23, Digitalis, Dryframix, East of Ealing, Ed Tangent, Eddie & the Hot Rods, Gallys Folly, Goldblade, Hobo Jones & the Junkyard Dogs, Honky Dub, Kate Techno Dolly, Mad Dog Mcrae, Mad Mick, Mc Dermott's 2 Hours, Mr B, Neville Staple, Patchwork Grace, Please Y Self, Rev Hammer & Guest, Smoke Like a Fish, Subgiant, Sunfish, Tall Sarah, Tarantism, The Hedgerow Crawlers, The Re-entrants, True Deceivers, Zetan Spore, and Zombie Met Girl. More acts are still to be confirmed, including the headliners for the Friday and Saturday night and the dance stage line-up for the Saturday.

Attila the Stockbroker
Tickets will go on sale to this year's festival attendees on Saturday 11th October and then to the general public on Saturday 25th October. Ticket prices are adult weekend £45, under 16s £24, and under 5s £5. Car parking is £4.50 and campervans are £8.50.

Festival attendees who bought a ticket in 2008 need to email the organisers with the subject "2008 Ticket Change" and email it to [email protected] including the ticket reference which can be found via PayPal or bank statement, to be able to take up the early on sale offer.

The music will be spread out over 3 different stages in 2009 with an outdoor main stage with a heated undercover perimeter, a mini big top will run using solar power for the dance stage and there will be a spoken word comedy acoustic tent. Plus a solar cinema, showers, workshops, on-site art work, world foods, open mic, large children's area, Bimble Inn, and camping.
