My Bloody Valentine have been confirmed as the Friday night headliner (an English festival exclusive) for the fifth Bestival, again at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight, held from Friday 5th until Sunday 7th September 2008.

Also announced is a line-up of live acts that includes: Aphex Twin (English Festival Exclusive), The Breeders, CSS, George Clinton And Funkadelic/Parliament, Gary Numan, The Human League (exclusive two performance concert), Pendulum (live), Jamie Lidell, 808 State (live), Foals, Lee Scratch Perry, Baaba Mal, Jeffrey Lewis, The Wedding Present, The Cuban Brothers, The Count & Sinden, Sebastien Tellier, Transglobal Underground, Two Gallants, King Creosote, Chas & Dave, Ebony Bones, Red Snapper, Jon Hopkins, Subway, Drew, Micah P Hinson, FM Belfast, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Dan le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, Grand National, Christopher D Ashley, Sportsday Megaphone, Kid Carpet, and Bastila.

BBC Introducing will have a stage at Bestival. The BBC Introducing stage plays host to the best new UK artists, nominated by new music shows from across the BBC. The stage will be showcasing a host of up-and-coming bands including; Subgiant, Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong, The Duke Spirit, Teenagers, Tawiah, Fuck Buttons, Cage The Elephant, Ladyhawke, Metronomy, Ox Eagle Lion Man, These New Puritans, Lets Wrestle, Little Dragon, Imperial Leisure, Gideon Conn, Zombie Zombie, George Pringle, The Restaurant, Vessels, The Ghost, Peter Von Poehl, St Vincent, Fleet Foxes, and Six Nation State.

The announcement doesn't stop there though, there's a stellar bill of DJs: DJ Yoda, Layo & Bushwacka, Annie Mac, Slam, Rob da Bank, Mark Moore, DJ Hype, Bailey, TC, Sub Focus, Chase & Status, Kevin Rowland, Yuksek, Touché, Digital Mystikz and Sgt Pokes, Loefah, Kode 9 and Space Ape, Freestylers, DJ Derek, and Sombrero Sound System.

There are still many more DJs and live acts yet to be announced.

As well as the music, Bestival has the world’s biggest fancy dress party, the Bollywood cocktail bar, Jestival comedy tent, a farmers market, secret stages, kids area, Morris dancing, magical moments and more, which makes this affair one of the most colourful events on the festival calendar.

Ticket Prices - Adult Tickets: £130. Adult tickets are for anyone aged 16 or over on 05/09/2008. Ticket holders aged 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*

Age 13 to 15 Child Tickets: £65. Age 13 to 15 Child Tickets are for anyone aged 13 to 15 on 05/09/2008. Child ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*

Age 12 & Under Child Tickets: FREE (ticket required) Age 12 & Under Child Tickets are for anyone aged 12 and under on 05/09/2008. Child Ticket holders must be accompanied by a Ticket holding parent or guardian over the age of 21*
*NB: One ticket holding parent or guardian can only accompany up to 4 people under the age of 18.

Campervan Tickets: £50 (per vehicle). Your Campervan must be specially adapted for people to stay in (which does not include transit vans with a mattress in the back or 4x4s with the seats folded down). If your vehicle is longer than 7 metres you will need to purchase two Campervan Tickets. Cars will not be allowed into the Campervan area at any time so consequentially Caravans, Trailer Tents etc are not permitted.
All Tickets include camping. All tickets purchases will incur a booking fee.
