Fairport's Cropredy Convention is a friendly three-day festival of rock, pop and acoustic music set in the Oxfordshire countryside. Located adjacent to Cropredy village, five miles north of Banbury and takes place from Thursday 7th August to Saturday 9th August.

The first few acts for the festival have now been announced, they include legendary folkrock band Levellers (celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year) who will headline the Friday. Also announced is Gaelic 'Folk Singer of the Year' Julie Fowlis and her band who will play at on the Saturday. Folk duo John Tams and Barry Coope will appear at Cropredy on the Thursday and another vocal duo Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller will perform at Cropredy on the Friday. Although not yet confirmed it’s pretty much certain that Fairport Convention will also be attending, and no doubt closing the festival on the Saturday.

The full list of acts at Cropredy 2008 will be announced shortly. It's a very friendly festival with great ales, no sell-out out to rampant commercialism, and no huge ticket prices.

Tickets are not yet on sale. There will be substantial discounts for early purchase. Cropredy offers Sat-only one-day tickets, Fri-Sat two-day tickets and Thurs-Fri-Sat weekend tickets - we'll have the details when available. Tickets for children under 12 years old are free. The popular festival attracts up to 20,000 music fans – last year, all the tickets were sold weeks before the gates opened.

Unlike many other festivals, here you can park your vehicle next to your tent. You MUST have a concert ticket for the day you arrive to camp or caravan. Space on the campsites is for concert goers only. If you wish to camp with friends or family you must meet up somewhere off-site and arrive together as spaces cannot be saved.
