Oxegen line-up announced

The Who, RHCP, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Arctic Monkeys, and more

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Oxegen - the two-day, five-stage festival which takes place at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas, Co Kildare, Eire on the weekend of 8th/9th July, and featuring over 80 acts - has confirmed the first bands for 2006.

As the non-identical twin of Scotland's T in the Park, it's not surprising that many of the same acts are confirmed for Oxegen. Heading the Saturday are The Who, while Sunday will see Red Hot Chili Peppers close the weekend.

Also playing on the Saturday are The Strokes, Bellx1, Arctic Monkeys, Richard Ashcroft, and Primal Scream. Confirmed for Sunday are Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, Manu Chao, and Damian Marley. Also confirmed are DJs Felix Da Housecat and David Morales. They'll be many more acts announced over the coming weeks.

Tickets go on sale at 8am on Friday 3rd March. We'll have links to buy tickets at that time.
