By Neil Greenway | Published:

The Carling Weekend:Leeds Festival have announced that organisations near to where the festival is held at Bramham Park, near Leeds, have benefitted by a total of £41,000 through donations and subsidised ticket sales to local residents.

Bramham and Thorner’s Community Fund Committees have made grants to many organisations, including schools, village halls, churches, sports clubs, scouts & brownies, and others. In addition, £10,000 has been kept back by Bramham Community Fund Committee in anticipation of the Parish Plan which will prioritise the needs of the village following consultation throughout Bramham.

Melvin Benn, Licensee and Promoter of Leeds Festival stated "We were delighted to welcome so many local residents from Bramham and Thorner to the festival in 2004 and hope that everyone enjoyed themselves while raising money for their local community at the same time by buying tickets. We are looking forward to seeing them again in 2005 and to the continuation of financial assistance for local organisations".
