bands for Bloodstock

two metal-fests, Open Air and indoor

By Neil Greenway | Published:

Bloodstock is a European Metal Festival that's been running for five years as an indoor festival, and was the first to bring Nightwish, Primal Fear, Masterplan and others to the UK.

With that now having reached capacity, Bloodstock is expanding this year to include an Open Air event for 8,000, with plans to grow further in the future.

Bloodstock Open Air - which includes camping - takes place at Catton Hall, Walton-on-Trent, South Derbyshire on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th June, and features some of the bands that have appeared at the indoor festivals, including Children Of Bodom, Edguy, Evergrey, Fourwaykill, Humanity, and Masterplan, and joined by Sebastian Bach (ex Skid Row – headlining his first ever UK festival on the Friday night), and Mostly Autumn both making their Bloodstock debut. Several more bands will be added to B-O-A within the next few weeks.

The Bloodstock Metalfest in September will have around 25 bands for 2005, many of them making their debut UK appearance. HammerFall, Stormwarrior, Bob Catley, Conquest Of Steel, and Warchild play on the Friday, and Within Temptation, Iron Savior, After Forever, Rise To Addiction, Season's End, an Cathedral playing Saturday, and more bands yet to be announced.
