Isle of Wight Festival gets its licence

By Neil Greenway | Published:

The Solent TV website is reporting that the Isle of Wight Festival was today granted its Public Entertainments Licence (it must be the week for it;-).

It says that the main concern from last year was to do with the emptying of toilets, but organisers Solo have agreed for them to be emptied more frequently this year.

It also reports that the event has been licenced for 40,000, but that Solo only intend to sell 35,000 tickets. Only one objection to the granting of the licence was raised by a resident.

The festival will take place from Friday 10th June until Sunday 12th June, with the site open from 5pm until 11pm on the Friday, 11am until midnight on the Saturday, and 11am until 11pm on the Sunday.

No bands have been confirmed as yet, but an announcement is expected soon.

Tickets are already on sale, priced at £35 for any day, £75 for the weekend, and £90 for the weekend with camping - click here to buy.
