It's been confirmed that David Bowie is to be one of the headliners at next years Isle of Wight Rock Festival - which is expanding to three days in 2004.

Bowie is to close the festival, headlining on the Sunday.

He's told davidbowie.com "I was so envious of other acts that got to do the other Isle of Wight Festivals - it is really coming back. This is the very first time I have been to the Isle of Wight Festival. Obviously I've been to the Isle of Wight, it's a fabulous place - I used to go there on holiday when I was a kid. I jumped at it, it is a smashing thing to do."

Tickets aren't yet on sale, but are expected to be so before the end of the year. We'll of course have more information when available.
