the end of Canterbury Fayre

another one bites the dust

By Neil Greenway | Published:

After hearing whispers during the last few days, we've now had confirmation that the company behind Canterbury Fayre has gone into liquidation.

The statement says that ticket sales we insufficient to cover costs, with some of the acts booked for this year not bringing in the numbers expected. As well as ticket sales, various regulatory demands as well as organisational problems increased the costs of running the event.

Glenn Povey, Festival Director, has expressed his disappointment at how things have turned out, and has said that he doesn't intend to continue with the event. He thanks all those who attended the event over over four years, and he hopes that you enjoyed the event.
