one Big Chill in 2003

The Big Chill have announced that 2003 will see just one Big Chill festival - at Eastnor Castle, the setting for its second event this summer.

On their website, they give the feedback about Eastnor 2002 - "probably more positive than about any other event that we've ever put on" - as the reason behind this decision. They hope that being able to concentrate on just one event will allow them to make it as good as possible.

This means that the very popular Enchanted Garden - which is normally held in July at Larmer Tree Gardens near Salisbury - isn't going to happen in 2003. Big Chill founder Pete Lawrence tells us it's too early to say whether Enchanted Garden will be back in 2004, saying that various difficulties with the site make it difficult to work with.

Although it would be a shame to lose such a great event, at least the Big Chill's very own festival style is set to continue.

The Big Chill Festival 2003 takes place at Eastnor Castle at Eastnor Castle deer park in the Malvern Hills, Herefordshire, between August 1-3. Ticket details will be announced shortly.
