  1. Sunrise Celebration

    29th May - 1st June 2014

‘Back to Our Roots’ with those Sunrise good vibes. The festival is all about participation and co-creation. It’s your chance to get enthused, empowered, illuminated, connected and skilled-up.

2014 sees us at a brand new home at the Chepstow Estate, near Bristol. It's the perfect Sunrise site with idyllic country parkland and an awe-inspiring view across the Severn bridges.

The All Good Things Arena is the 2014 home to our main indoor stage, Chai Wallahs with their incredible roster of emerging artists hosted in a spectacular environment. The line up includes: The Mouse Outfit ft Dr Syntax & Sparks, Jungle By Night, MC Xander, Joe Driscoll & Sekou Kouyate, Sheelanagig, DJ Skitz, The Allergies and Wrongtom

The Sundance Arena will feature the Waveform stage, hosted by the Eartheart Dragon and working together with Illuminaughty, Tribe of Frog, Love of Dub and Gaia Chill to bring you the very best psychedelic music Britain has to offer. Plus The Up Rising Stage with GIVE Festival, Love Dance, Inspiral Lounge and Eden/Triplicity with visionary art gallery and finally Cats Cradle, Live Electronica stage.

Introducing the new Eden Village with the folk based Spit and Sawdust Stage, hands-on workshops, talks, kids area, music and dance, wilderness skills workshops for all ages and Forest School for children. Plus a series of magnificent talks on esoteric topics will be hosted by internationally acclaimed astrologer Jonathan Cainer.

  3. New venue formats 2013:

    • Main Stage

      • Sunrise are thrilled to announce an exciting new format for the Main Stage, to be hosted each night by a renowned band or musical artist in an undercover 1500 capacity venue. Each night the host band will curate the evening’s music sharing their own material alongside their favourite musical artists including upcoming underground acts. Confirmed main stage hosts include the brilliant Dub Pistols (Saturday night) bringing a monster mash-up hip hop, dub, techno, ska & punk; The Beat will be hosting Rankin’ Roger’s Dub Reggae Party on the Sunday mixing up reggae, dub and ska acts chosen by Roger himself; and finally a Mystery Guest Curator is set to raise the roof on the Friday night- prepare to be blown away!

      [*]Sunrise Pub

      • The new 800 capacity venue will feature legendary DJs like Krafty Kuts (aka Martin Reeves) and the best in underground live-acts from the sub-cultural hubs of Bristol, Brighton, Bath and Frome, plus the hinterlands in-between. In addition to serving up the finest local and organic alcohol, the Sunrise Pub will host a sumptuous themed banquet on Saturday night in its intimate back room, featuring exclusive entertainment for diners, paving the way for a Sunday Roast gala, serenaded by sweet Sunday afternoon tunes.

      [*]Beyond the Stars ‘Ghettofunk’ Nightclub

      • This brilliant Nightclub is in a new larger venue with underground DJs and live acts; the new Sunrise Sounds Nightclub and Secret Cinema featuring comedy, performance and a wild miscellany of late night grooves; and the revamped, psychedelic Dance Temple splicing cutting edge psy-trance, electronica and chill. Tribe of Doris – the celebrated intercultural drumming, dance and song pioneers - will infuse a glorious mix of global sounds into the Micronation, bringing stunning live musical performances from Africa, Latin America and other parts of the globe and the chance to learn an eclectic range of indigenous drumming, dance and singing styles

      [*]Forest of Story

      • Another new element for 2013 is Forest of Story — a 3-acre environment taking full advantage of nature’s bounty with high-flying performance, storytelling, fire acts, kids’ activities, art trails and much more. Sunrise’s fabulous Kids Area returns with a feast of fun new activities, as does the super relaxing Serenity Field complete with Well-Being area and sauna. The Village Green once again brings an innovative forum for social and environmental education, and the Green Talks Dome will be variously hosted by pioneering UK organisations for sustainable living (details coming soon). The festival aims to be a greener than ever, with some dynamic new eco initiatives soon to be announced for 2013. Watch this space!

  4. 4 days of magical sensory delight in the beautiful surrounds of somerset's rolling green hills await you. More than just a festival of amazing musical entertainments, Sunrise is a celebration of human creativity and potential, featuring all manner of inspiring talks & workshops to facilitate the growth of strong, sustainable co-supportive communities.

With the principles of permaculture at it's heart, Sunrise festival is 100% sustainably powered and we pride ourselves on pushing the boundaries each year with new ecological initiatives.

We believe in the power of community, and the potential of small collectives of like-minded people, rippling out positive intentions to effect the mass consciousness of life on our planet.

Celebration seems to us the best way to do this, and so once a year Sunrise Celebrates with our family, pushing the envelope of our imagine to create an inspiring event you can take home with you in your heat, and big fat massive smile on your face smile.png

  16. Sunrise Celebration 2010 a sell-out Success - “Practically Perfect in every way”
Pre-sale tickets for 2011 on sale now...

With rave reviews coming in from all angles, this year sell-out Sunrise Celebration Festival, which was held in Somerset at the beginning of June this year, went down a storm, or rather, in glorious sunshine!

Efestivals called it; “Practically perfect in every way… With such a positive happy environment the possibilities are endless. Congratulations Sunrise you are perfection!”

Virtual festivals rated the event with an overall 9/10 and said, “Sunrise has one of the most relaxed, chilled and friendly atmospheres of any small festival….. This is an event with its heart firmly in the right place. It’s a heart that beats a little louder every year”.

And these are just the reviews from journalists; with Sunrisers themselves feeling uplifted by what many said was their best festival ever.

Here are a couple that encompass what many have said:

“Thank you so much for such a beautiful festival. In fact, we found it to be more of an 'environment' than a festival - a place that radiates harmony and possibility”. Sarah Perrott

“That was quite possibly the best festival ever. And I've been to many, many festivals. Massive thanks to the Sunrise organisers”. Joe Rickhards

Please do add any comments of your own to this post regarding your experience at Sunrise, we're always eager for feedback so we can find ways to make Sunrise get better and better for you each year.

A very limited number of pre-sale tickets for Sunrise 2011 are now on sale for the discount price of £75, giving a massive saving of £40 on the gate price to anyone prepared to buy early.

”We are glowing from all the beautiful quotes we have received and what a beautiful event it was this year, thank so much to everyone who participated and made it what it was. ” Says Director Daniel Hurring.

“We are now beginning to plan Sunrise 2011, and people can get a super cheap ticket when they buy them at this time of year. We like to offer dedicated Sunrisers a really good deal for supporting us by buying early. We are a Community Interest Company (CIC) and a relatively small festival, and we rely on early ticket sales to fund us organising the next years event.”

Sunrise 2011 will be held on the same site from 2nd-5th June 2011 and the 200 pre-sale tickets on offer are available until September.
