  1. Yip. My girlfriend does the washing biz then keeps them for me for the camp wizzing biz. Been  like this for many years and a bloody god send at 3 am, with what feels like half a mile to the long drop and a few dozen tent ropes to navigate in the dark. Hurrah for the plastic pisser( and your knob seems lovely and silky smooth if you don’t rinse it first 🙄😁

  2. OMG. The guys on motorbikes in the cage last year . Spellbound with a mix of the the horror possibility of an impending leather and  metal bloodbath and the absolute jaw dropping skill of these guys !

  3. Gate B . Arrived at about 4-30. Sitting About 200 yards from front. Be parked here till almost dark I imagine before moved across the road and parked for the night. Crew parking is closest to the gate so decent hike to the gate. All good spirits tho 👍😎

  4. All the very best to you all.

May blessings outnumber the thistles that grow

And trouble avoid ye wherever ye go

Extra New Year luck to those who are stalwarts of this site and have yet to receive the grace of a brief for the 2020 gathering at the farm.

Just look at your map for a few small towns en route all have supermarkets of some size. Also Haacht is about a 20 minute walk from the hive and there is a supermarket next to the church.

You can't get to Haacht easily by car as the town is cordened off as they have everything following the diversion around the site. ( But you can drive past the cordon and play the didn't understand card)

thanks again Scarnic & Chaarlie for relies again . much appreciated

  7. Thanks Chaarlie. As long as we get in that general direction and follow the festival signs im sure we will be ok. Loved driving over there, thought main roads much better than in UK.

We have driven from Calais to the Down the Rabbit Hole fest in Holland before , so we are already organizing the extra car accessories you mention again .

Does anyone know if there are any supermarkets in or around the approach the RW? Just thinking of grabbing some fresh bread and fruit on way in . If not , any suggestions on  detours to local village shops to recommend ?

I'm flying to Eindhoven. It was almost free from Belgrade. 90€ for 2 return tickets with a 40kg bag. Then we'll figure out the rest. I guess trains

We  are heading to the festival for 1st time from Aberdeen .

Taking the car .Driving from Aberdeen - Dover . Overnight stay in Dover,  then on the Ferry on the Wednesday morning to Calais , then its about 2.5 hr drive to festival .only hope that its well signposted after the Brussels  bypass as festival site advises not to use sat nav . Booked to stay in camping in Hive .

I take it you are on the Hive.

They have a few manned units, usually near the toilets/shower areas. Here they have about 4 small cooking "areas".  So can get busy but you take your chance. There's a hotplate and a small area to put your ingredients and pans. They will help you with rubbish and cleaning up. They also have catering size water boilers, we always take a big thermos with us and just fill it and take it back to the tent.

    As for a stove it's a no-no.

Thanks Scarnic. And good shout on the flask . def adding to the packing list .

  10. another question from the newbie.

we would normally take a wee stove to cook breakie at festivals.

But this it seems is forbidden .

it says there are hot plates/ hot water etc for campers at the Hub . Is there usually a crowd scene at these in the morning ?

just looking to boil a few eggs / hot water for coffee etc

Yeah it's a debatable subject. I always take a 70kg collapsible sack barrow and have no problems( apart from going through their security check gates as they are less than 1m wide).

I just feel they are referring to a kids trolley which are quite popular in Benelux. These are big wooden trolleys that are bigger than a supermarket trolley.

thanks  for that. Ill maybe pop one in the car and if i see a few others with theses heading for gates ill just use it ?

  12. thanks very much to all the replys regarding my questions re this festival .

    all so helpful .

I have noticed that on the website , there's a "no trolley" rule .

is this actually enforced ? . usually take one to avoid multiple car trips . seems a very odd rule .

  13. hi folks . We  are going to head to RW this year for first time .And would really appreciate some  advise / hints & tips / questions answered  .

We have been to Down the Rabbit hole in Holland a couple of times in last few years so no stranger to Euro festivals  .

If this isn't the correct place or if there is already a section somewhere on the forum we can get all the info then please point me in the right direction .

We are traveling from Aberdeen by car  . Still deciding on tunnel or ferry again but thats easy sorted .

Its more question re the festival site its self .

we are to arrive on Wednesday so going to fork out the extra 30.00 bucks for staying at the Hive section that night ,( I think that's what it means on the website anyway)

Q1. how far is the car park from the camping section there ?

Q2. Is there any restriction on the amount of booze you can take in to camp site ?

Q3. is it worth shelling out on booze / food tokens before head there or it is a well getting that sorted when arrive ?

well that's my starter question I can think of at mo .

so much thanks in advance for any help / advise

Saw this in the paper today and did wonder whether it meant stalls/bars selling plastic bottles or public bringing bottles in as well. Obviously environmentally I agree 100%, as well as reducing the litter problem there as well, but a lot of people decent their spirits or wine etc into plastic bottles so will it need to move in the direction of other festivals where purchasing from bars is only option? I guess large flasks an option.

Was thinking the same.I totally admire their vision, as in most things they do.Its a challenge for them but would be just like them to lead the way in this for festivals world wide.I think recyclable container technology is bound to grow exponentially with the growing concern on this issue over next 10 years .But meantime step by step in roads will be required .

  15. oh my lenor bottle is always a must in the packing list .4am, rain battering down , drink fueled long drop compass malfunction etc ,bloody godsend.

Also find if you dont quite rinse all the conditioner out it makes your trouser chum lovey and soft and smelling of some heather clad glen. whats not to like :D
