So Earache Records put out a clue about their secret guest (Saturday)... they have headlined the John Peel stage in last 10 years.
A quick scan of wikipedia puts this as the following rock/heavy options.
Ash, Enter Shikari (doubling up?), Crystal Castles, Biffy Clyro, Suede.
Ash are playing Boardmasters on the Friday so perhaps most likely.

Thursday is smaller stages.. usually with devil kicks dancehall being the biggest. Lots to see and do. Hard to know who is playing without checking each individual act... quite often it's bands that will play again over the weekend...
that said there is so much to see that as much time to take it in as possible is desirable.

Looks like only one of the Town Centre headliners has been announced (Cat Empire) - if NOFX are actually playing Devil Kicks and Jimmy Cliff the Lions Den.
Not that I really mind who they will be - as the rest of the lineup is so strong.

Theft wise, how safe is Boomtown? I'm only used to Glastonbury and the infamous wednesday nights. (I've not personally been affected but many in my group have before)

Can't you leave the work smart shoes in the boot of your car? assuming your going by car i'm allergic to public transport so I assume everyone drives

Currently suffering from too many shoes that isn't like me at all, but is necessary. Work smart shoes (going straight from a conference thing), hardcore sandles, steel toe caps (for working after fest) + thinking I should also get some wellies.
I'm off to poundland for their vacuum pack bags (1 for a quid).

They really are an awesome band. Would love to go see them one day with silent disco style headphones that miss out the vocals.

BBC radio 6 just repeated the same as everyone else. "Unsettled..not a wash-out". Never listen to radio 6, but like how they have mention the word glastonbury regularly, seems to give me the fix required.

Just did a search on Iplayer for "Glastonbury", looking for the radio preview show. There are two "coming soon" TV shows; one of Radiohead in 97, and one of Pulp 95 - bit of an odd coincidence.

Hopefully not indeed!
Perhaps it will just be a second slot for Enter Shikari as a stage opener - they are listed for midday on their own website.
Edit: Earache say Saturday night - so unless it is stage opener on Town Centre then not that.
