bitching would insinuate that i'm angry and crying about people not liking the lineup...obviously to you that's how you see it, which isn't you're fault it's just how you think. What i was doing was just belittling you and those whose posts 90% of the time just complain, complain, complain that their favourite bands weren't on the list. Then subsequently showing you that you're arguments are contradictions of your original point.
In laymans terms…
Me Win
You Lose

with all this talk about the 3rd down on saturday already havent been booked, and the fact that copping was banging on about how he thinks Hollywood Undead are gunna be huge this year... he wouldnt.. would he?
-
The Eagles
Nickelback/TheDarkness/VelvetRevolver
Alter Bridge.
what a day.
-
haha i'd be thrilled. what a band.
-
with Dire Straits subbing
-
im begging you. out of nowhere
The Eagles.
-
i think if they did reform they would play second down AT THE LOWEST. they were an absolutely huge hit before they split up, and though alot of people may not agree with it, i think theyd be a massive billing.
-
actually having time to think about it i bet its probably Def Leppard. would make sense, they will be saying the shit will hti the fan cos they only played 2 years ago. then Velvet Revolver or the Darkness to be announced after. cheeky guess anyway.
-
my money is now firlmy on MCR or Nickelback.
-
QOTSA would be great, saw them before Rage... 3 years ago? at reading and they were dull, but last year they were really up for it and put in a hell of a performance
Def Leopard would be a bit poo as they were only there 2 years ago, but its just one band, and if they can get The Darkness or Velvet Revolver to sub i'd be well up for that!!

dont know why everyones spunking over sonisphere tbh. the big four are the most overtouring bands on the circuit, and im a big metallica fan. the fact that theyre all together is irellevant for me. slipknot are superb, but limp bizkit as, essentially, subheadlinerS? and biffy and weezer as far up as they are too? are any of those bands bands that havent played download or reading in the last 3 years? they need to book a big band who hasnt played one of the big festivals for a while, they just book repeats.
-
please bring rise against to download. seen then three times already live, awesome live act. missed out on tickets for their march show
-
wouldnt be surprised to see The Darkness and Velvet Revolver co headline. or Nickleback with VR underneath. either of which i'd be thrilled with.
-
well to be fair to AC i dont think he was ever going to get anything near the set of headliners he got last year, and the amount of bitch fits about the undercard probably let him to wanting a more balanced line up this year. at the end of the day, id rather have a long day of great music and an average headliner than a great headliner, but having to wait through hours and hours of gash. or only getting a 2 and a half day festival like last year. still. we'll have to wait and see he could pull something crazy out of the hat.
-
fair point. Muse with MCR subbing and thats a great booking tbh
-
Tool and Soundgarden. two bands i have absolutely no interest in
-
im gunna watch Mr Big simply for 'daddy, brother, lover, little boy'. that is a tune.
-
Did Nickelback ever get ruled out?
-
did he ever completely rule out RHCP? or Ozzy? its looking fairly nailed on to be soundgarden now but as i dont care about them i will hold my breath and hope
-
all worth it for the semi confirmation that mastodon wont be taking up a decent spot on the line up though
-
I reckon Sunday will be Ozzy, Velvet Revolver and Rob Zombie with Pendulum on 2nd stage.
-
so if you could choose 10 ultimately realistic bands (so no Nirvana etc) to play this years fest, who would they be?
in no particular order
1. Alter Bridge
2. Rise Against
3. Buckcherry
4. Black Stone Cherry
5. Hundred Reasons
6. Finch
7. Machine Head
8. Nickelback (i know, sue me )
9. Velvet Revolver (if this new singer stuff gets sorted!)
10. Young Guns
-
think i must be the only one to only care about metallica in the big four. i find the other three bands hugely tedious tbh
-
i dont think i'd be the only one to be bitterly disappointed with this. i reckon coppings got something big, like Pearl Jam up his sleeve. i wouldnt even be massively surprised to see Maiden there.
Def Who?

Had a great festival, even though we left sunday morning. was going to see bowling for soup, buckcherry, bullet and linkin park, but id seen them all before, bullet four times, so the rain convinced me to get out of there!!
highlights this year were Alice Cooper, whos stage show was quality, and The Darkness, who seemed to be back with a bang. love them or hate them, Justin Hawkins is a good showman. Alter Bridge were great too, though i was upset they didnt play any of their slower stuff, obviously opting to go for the heavy songs for a heavyish festival. Young Guns and Avenged Sevenfold did great jobs, but maybe my favourite band of the weekend was Black Stone Cherry. sound was absolutely bang on, their new songs are top class, genuinely nice guys and the singers voice is phenominal live. will definately be trying to grab some tickets to the Alter Bridge/Black Stone Cherry tour later this year!!
