Would also like to see The Acorn return as the full band next year
-
Cheek Mountain Thief. I heard rumours they were playing this year but, alas, it did not happen.
-
Also saw:
Hurray for the Riff Raff at the piano stage at some point on sunday.
Abi Wade in the woods near the library at 3pm on Saturday/Sunday(?)

So long as EOTR doesnt suffer the same fate as Creamfields has this weekend Im sure we can all put up with a few showers here and there.
But the forecast seems to be improving everytime I look at it.

Moulettes
5.15-6.00 Tipi Tent on the Sunday. (according to their website.)
-
I managed to catch most of Lanterns on the Lake's set at a festival last weekend and I was very impressed so looking forward to seeing them again. Also planning on checking out Moulettes.
-
Really excited about Patrick Watson. Would have liked to have seen Ben Howard added to the line up seeing as he's available around the time of the festival, and his entire UK tour has sold out. Too small for the special guest I would have thought.
-
Seriously?!?! I'm also heading down from Inverness. I was planning on flying. Although I'm thinking of seeing Grimes in Glasgow on the Wednesday. Hmmm....
Are you driving down on the Thursday?
-
I have two tickets (downstairs standing) for the wonderful Andrew Bird in Glasgow on Friday 8th June and can no longer attend as my 'lovely' employer wont allow me to take the day off.
I'll cut the ridiculous booking/postage fees and sell the pair for £34 (£17 each face value)
If anyone's interested let me know.

Patrick Watson & Barr Brothers @ Komedia, Brighton
Following Mr Mangan, more Canadians with boisterous ex-pat support. Both new to me, but well worth the £12.50 even if it did put an end to the tour of Brighton's real ale pubs which was real purpose of my trip dangerously south. I enjoyed the Barr's low-key set enough to buy the LP.
Patrick's set was an odd mixture of gorgeous piano and vocals ballads ("To Build a Home" the stand-out), and very discordant ramblings from the five piece ("Adventures in your own backyard") which also seemed to go down well. Don't know how much the set leaned toward the new record. Patrick's interaction with the crowd was the highpoint, particularly the campfire songs he sangs a capella in the middle of the crowd, balanced on a bar stool.
Komedia is pleasant but not great for viewing more than four rows back, and the video screens seem a bit incongruous. Sound was pretty good, certainly on the solo material.

Sharon Van Etten and Lower Dens would be awesome additions. Both are playing at The National's ATP though, so for me it would have to be:
The Black Atlantic
The Kissaway Trail
Of Monsters and Men
wildcards
Ryan Adams
The Shins

This is a lot harder than I expected it to be...

so, a Grizzly Bear and Van Dyke Parks collaboration at EOTR this year perhaps??
And also... Robin Pecknold!
-
This will be my first EOTR, and i'll be attending on my own.
Quick question for you returnees: is it best to travel to the festival on the Thursday or the Friday?
-
Just read that The Walkmen have a new album coming out in June on Bella Union.....
-
Fully agree, the undercard is great, been very impressed with a lot of it.
If two of Fleet Foxes are gonna be there, the chances of Fleet Foxes headlining the Friday have increased dramatically I would think?
-
Very happy to see The Acorn added to the line up. My Sad Captains are also well worth a listen.
-
The new Bowerbirds effort is very nice indeed. Thinking of seeing them on their UK tour in May.
-
when do we get to know this, spring, early summer as a ticket sales boost? can't recall last year's timing.
-
Absolutely echo the list from Christophales (a few in there I've not heard so will definitely check those out)
To throw in some more brand new albums from bands that fit into the EOTR vibe...
Damien Jurado 'Maraqopa'
Fanfarlo 'Rooms Filled With Light'
Hospitality 'Hospitality'
Imperial Teen 'Feel The Sound'
Maribel 'Reveries'
Memoryhouse 'The Slideshow Effect'
Phantogram 'Nightlife'
Royal Baths 'Better Luck Next Life'
Sea Lions 'Everything You Always...'
Tennis 'Young And Old'
