  1. A bunch of lads stood infront of us where adament that Elton John was one of the special guests on the park stage....you can imagine the disappointment on their faces when the blokes from Supergrass walked out onto the stage instead.

Its funny how these rumours start

  2. It's never too late! A whole packet of Skittles (minus the greens) dissolved for me in less than three days.

Would that be a standard size packet or a bumper bag??

Never tried anything like this before, what size bag would i need for 1 litres worth of vodka??

  3. Ok, it is my first time to glastonbury and i have studied the map and ideally we would like to try out the Pennards area.

I am coming down from the Midlands so will be coming down the M5 and then coming off at junction 23.

I am presuming that this route will lead me to the West car park but what i am trying to figure out is which colour route i need to take in order for easier access to Pennards. Im presuming i need to park in South West area??? Somebody told me that once i have parked i am best entering on foot via gate D to get to the Pennards and therefore will need to drive in on the Red route but from looking at the map, the Red route looks like its going in a different direction??? Can someone with a little more experience just clarify that the information i have been given is correct, for my own piece of mind.

I have read that you dont always get the choice which route you enter by. Would Pennards be easy enough to get to from any of the west car park areas???

I will be arriving around 9am on the Wednesday.

  4. Stella is bottle i believe. Strongbow is for the 15x440ml Cans, and Export is the 15 or 10 x 440ml Can pack. Not sure on that one as my store doesn't stock the Export cans as it's quite small, but larger stores and Extra's will have it.

Can you tell i'm an employee?

  5. Just a heads up, the Tesco "2 for £16" deal on big packs of lager/cider ends today. It included Stella, Fosters, Carlsberg Export, Becks, Strongbow, Boddingtons, Guinness, Gaymers etc.
  6. Netto are doing 12 cans of Carlsberg Export for £7.99.

As a person that prefers the stella/export type lagers, i found that this is a good deal considering it is normally £7.50 for 8 cans elsewhere.

and for anybody that is on a seriously limited budget and can tolerate the taste, Netto are also gonna be doing 4 cans of diamond white for £1.99. So you could get like 20 cans for a tenner!! Though i would imagine you would only need 3 or 4 before you was on your back

That deal comes into play on thursday.

  7. I went round to my girlfriends dads house on the weekend and put his tent up. It is very spacious but apparantely it is 8 years old. It is the old style tenting with a long metal pole down the middle and an outer sheet that fits over the top of the inside one.

From looking at pictures of the modern style ones, it would seem that the one im gonna borrow looks a little bit outdated. Do people actually still use these kinds of tents?? Will it be reliable enough?? There is two layers. Apparantely it has only been used a couple of times. Do you think this will be ok or am i best buying a modern style one??

  8. Seeing as i have little or no experience with tents, i guess i was just hoping for a bit of useful advice.

Basically there is 2 of us goin to Glastonbury this year for the first time and i dont actually own a tent so had been lookin to buy one.

I came across a 'Gelert Rocky' 4 man tent which i quite liked the look of but it turns out that my girfriends dad already has a 4 man tent which he can lend us.

It is a 'Lichfield Commando' 4 man tent. I had never heard of this make of tent but her Dad reckons the tent has been reliable the couple of times he has had to use it but I cant seem to find any information about it online. Apparantely he bought it 2 years and is in good working order.

It would certainly save me some money if i could borrow a tent but what im worried about is whether this tent would keep the rain out if we where to have torrential downpour??

Do these tents become less waterproof over time, even when they have hardly been used?? Would i need to buy some kind of spray to waterproof the tent and how affective are these sprays?? Which is the best one???

or would it be best to jus go out and buy a new tent?? The Rocky 4 tent i was originally looking to buy had a HH rating of 1500.

Any advice would be much appreciated :-)
