  1. The 2 person bunk pads are a bit small, but they block out the morning sunlight and are cooler than a tent.  Those extra 2-3 hours sleep can be very important at Glastonbury.  You are  RIGHT next door to people though (not even a gap of 2 feet between sheds), so less privacy.  The 4 man ones did look to be located slightly better.

I've gone for the 4 man Bell Tent (only for 2 of us) this year rather than the 4 person bunkpad.  Much more floor area in a Yurt/Tipi/Bell Tent

  2. Are the Foals actually big enough for the Pyramid stage?  I love them as a band, but you need to put on a show, not just be great at music to play on it.  Is the lead singer actually strong enough to carry it off?

See the Black Keys last year, brilliant band, but again would have been better on a smaller stage.

  3. Solo missions can be the best times in Glastonbury.

Waiting for people takes up soo much time too, every thing takes half an hour, whether is a drink, toilet, food etc. You can cut that time in half on your own ;)

Not sure if id fancy it for the full 5 days though.

You will have a quality time regardless and probably end up with 10 new best mates by the end

  4. Foo Fighters

    Motörhead

    The Fall

    Spiritualized

    The Vaccines

    Wolf Alice

    Courtney Barnett

    Death cab for cutie

    Fat white family

    Enter Shikari

    Death from above 1979

    FFS

    Suede

i'm sure I missed a few, NOT TO MENTION that this isnt even half the line up yet.. I have to disagree with "a lack of guitar bands"

Yeh I didn't mean to cause an argument as everyone has different music tastes

But compare those bands on the poster to the last 3/4 Glastonbury's, this is kind of why I mentioned it.

Typically Glasto has been aimed at the 'older' crowd, or at least you get that impression when walking around the site. Chart music has never really been a factor, always about the quality of the bands and how they sounded live.

Times are changing though I suppose.

  5. Dance music & R&B are more popular right now. I mean Kanye West is probably one of the most talked about person in the tabloids & the charts are full of stuff like Clean Bandit.

Yeh I just suppose I just have issues with some of the chart 'music' at the moment...definitely getting old haha.

Hopefully the John Peel tent throw sup some surprises anyway (Slaves would be amazing), last year we had Royal Blood and the Temples playing there. They could have easily handled a bigger stage this year.

  6. Such disappointing line-up this year when you consider some of the bands that COULD have played. Think it's the weakest I can remember in the past 10 years ?

Far too much R&B and pop music, is it not supposed to be a rock festival? Where are all the British bands that have hit the mainstream in the last 12 months ?

Must have been Emily Eavis' turn to pick the bands this year, she's certainly succeeding in turning the whole Festival into the Park Stage.

I will still have a great time regardless, just a bit annoying when you consider the quality of the 2013 & 2014 lineups.

LOL sorry guys, seem to have struck a nerve with some people, 'Rock Festival' was certainly the wrong term to use. I basically meant there is a lack of guitar bands compared to previous years.

I know I shouldn't moan, it's still the best place to be on Earth for that weekend, I just expected a bit more, I cant be the only 33 year old glasto veteran who thinks this ?

  8. Stayed in a 4 man scout tent last year, you have a bit of room to the front of the tent probably around 15 feet (?) before the next tent row starts. Enough room to park a few chairs/table/groundsheet anyway

Some people but windbreakers up to cordon off their on little space.

Doubt you will get away with a storage pop up tent, but to be honest I doubt anyone would care.

The 2 man scout tents are bigger than a standard 2 man eurohike tent and more sturdy, but still not really spacious with 2 people, plus bags and mattress

Keep checking the Worthy View (there are 4 man scout tents available now) as more tents become available daily, the 4 man scout tent is decent but a rip off at 580 odd quid

I may have a Yurt (£330) that I need to get rid of if my friend doesn't take it. The deadline is sometime in April. Drop us a PM in a few months for an update if you're still desperate !!

  9. Looks like our similar questions crossed over by 5 minutes !

I'd probably go with the tipi, it's cheaper, taller and looks a bit better ? You will probably have more space around you too as they cant pitch tipi's too close due to the ropes etc ?

Stayed in the tipi village before, the tipi was great but did let a bit of rain in by the entrance, not enough to cause any issues as the tipi was so big inside. We just simply didn't sit by the entrance !

So I'd say the say the Yurt would be better suited to rain, but a tipi cooler if it's hot...which is vital for those extra 2 hours sleep from 8am-10am in glasto !!

Both are pretty good options to have anyway :goodjob:

  10. Hi all

Stayed in Worthy View last year in a 4 man scout tent (no WAY worth the £585!!) but suited us perfectly as we travelled from abroad and arrived Thursday evening.

Been lucky enough to book both a 9ft Yurt and a 2 Person PodPad for this year. Obviously I only need 1 of these and not sure which one is best bet ??

I'm leaning towards the Podpads at they come with a raised bed and air mattress but look very small inside. Whereas the Yurt has more room but probably a bit less comfortable. Both look pretty cool and prices are similar, around £350 each

I'm just wondering if anyone stayed in either last year and can provide some info?

    Thanks !

  11. Got my ticket in the resale in May and booked 3 scout tents fairly easily for our group.

If you don't have any joy check back around the cancellation deadline day as there were loads of options last year.

As I travel from abroad, Worthy View makes life a lot easier as I don't have to carry everything on the plane/festival coach etc. Not having to worry about finding a spot also take a lot of stress out of it...but don't get me wrong, Worthy View is a complete rip off !!

If you are planning on going back and forth to your tent then Worthy view is a bit of a trek. But if you leave your tent at 10am and don't get back till the early hours then it's ideal....food (shockingly bad, but who cares after a day on the cider!!) and drink at the top of the hill as well.

  12. As long as you can sit on most of the ground without it being muddy i'll be happy. I cant be bothered carting round one of them millets chairs around for the whole weekend again either. Must have bought around 10 last time it rained as they kept getting stolen/lost!

Definitely don't want 30 degrees either as you cant sleep in later than 6am and it completely drains you.

Overcast and 20 degrees, just a touch of rain to make the ground soft, sorted :)

  13. Would avoid the castle carey train station, seen them twice there before but you never know.

Put stuff on your head/under hat...dogs cant sniff that high!!

  14. I'm Travelling from abroad and my usual Colombian penpal has unfortunately had to pull out due to work commitments (mental I know, I'd quit my job in an instant!) and leaves me a bit a stuck.

Complete long shot and probably very naive of me, but If anyone can help me locate another penpal then please drop me a PM !

Please don't judge as I haven't meant to cause offence. Everyone has their own vices and if you can't let loose once a year at glasto then where else can you lol :)

  15. Camped there a few times, pretty chilled out and doesn't fill up too quickly so ideal for larger groups arriving late on Wednesday.

The hill is a bit of a killer though if you are right at the top !
