  1. Hi,

im attending this year and staying in the disabled campsite with my family.

does anyone know much about it ?

im keen to find how busy it is, if it’s quiet/rowdy and whether or not there are amenities such as a hot water tap etc etc

    thanks!

  2. Hey!

after failing (again!) to get tickets, my wife and I are resigned to watching the festival at home with our children. Making the most of a bad situation, we want to make it as fun and magical as possible, to try and give the kids (who have never been) a small sense of what the festival is like.

So after a bit of advice - how can we recreate the Glastonbury experience from the living room, having as much (child friendly) fun as possible?

Any suggestions on food, drink, clothing, accessories or possible indoor camping equipment are extremely welcome.

To all those attending the festival, have a cracking time!

    Thanks,

    Danny

  3. Safe to say he's no tame impala fan, kept telling the sound guys off for the bass/drum coming from the pyramid, seemingly oblivious to the fact it was beyond their control.

Some lovely classic singalong moments, but his between song chatter was painful, but still not quite as bad as the poetry

  4. I work for a struggling paper merchants in Slough. Im a sales rep, which means that my job is to speak to clients on the phone about quantity and type of paper, and whether we can supply it with them, and whether they can pay for it.

And I'm boring myself talking about it.

They are well on the mark in regards to festivals mate and will alter their set accordingly.

They will play a crowd friendly selection with one or two off the new album. Would probably expect Movin On from the last one as well. Imo they will play both Laid and Sit Down at Glasto.

Have a listen to the singles (Fresh As A Daisy) or the greatest hits.

I'm with you on this, I think a greatest hits set is not just in the interest of the crowd but also them as a band, high exposure to an absolute banging set could easily see a huge spike in album sales a la Lionel

Hands up, so far there's probably only about 20% of the line up so far that I've heard of, less that I've actually heard. Sometimes feel like I'm lost touch with modern music, I miss the thrill of discovery from reading interviews about my favourite bands' influences, nipping to record fairs looking for rarities, standing at the listening posts in Andy's Records, sharing mix tapes with mates.. Just feels like the way we discover music has changed so drastically. It's a different kind of hunt now, when just about anything is available at the tips of your fingers, it doesn't quite feel the same and personally I've just become kinda overwhelmed by choice, I don't even really know where to look or start these days, there's so much more to sift through.

Anyway, I digress. I've had a Spotify playlist on and off for weeks - richardmunden - if you're here, cheers. A lot of it is background stuff to me but there are a few who I'd never heard of before this dragged out announcement who've jumped out. So, so far I'm hoping to see Daughter, Savages, Floating Points, Lapsley and Hinds. I wonder having Spotify playlists would've effected the other festivals I've been to, not that I'd change a thing, I've loved them all.

Anyone you've discovered because of the announcements? Or even anyone you've discovered on the day at the festival - probably my best was Love with Arthur Lee in 2003, recognised the album cover but had no idea what they were like or who they were. Got obsessed for a bit after that.

Love one of the bands that changed my life, hearing forever changes as an 18 year old blew me wide open musically! First and only time I cried at someone I don't know dying when Arthur passed.

I've gotten into Ezra FURMAN since the announcement, he's totally bonkers but in a good way!

I'm new to this Spotify lark. Is there any way at all of filtering out some songs from the playlist for myself? There's so much dancey stuff on there thats not my cup of tea.

I think you'd just have to create a new play list and move all the stuff you do want onto it

Does the previous business with the festival turning away gilmour, wright and Mason from headlining at the last minute mean were unlikely to ever see gilmour play?

why on earth would he ever want to appear at a festival that callously turned down his best friends dying wish to play?

What are the stories behind these comments?

  10. Yea! Tv series is based on about 6 books by George RR Martin. Incredible books, only issue is that he writes them really slowly so now the Tv series has overtaken the novels!

Soz, just realised you didn't ask to hear all of this.

although, there could be a parallel draw between GoT and GF, both vast and incredibly detailed. the different families/houses could represent the different stages etc
