  1. All the discussion of Saturday headliners on the Pyramid is tiring. I'm more intrigued as to who'll be headlining the Other Stage. Portishead last year was an incredible booking. This year it looks like we're getting Massive Attack under that similar theme. But who else? Skrillex and Pixies seem likely, but who else would we like/expect to headline/be booked on the Other.

  2. I find the exclusivity thing interesting. The Metallica exclusive could be mean one of three things. One: That will be their only show in the UK this year. Two: Metallica By Request is the exclusive and they could feasibly play as long as it's not By Request. Three: It's bollocks like plenty other 'exclusives' in the past.

  4. Wonder if he will do another press conference if he does decide tour? Genius.

He's music great eccentric. It's impossible not to be dumfounded and enthralled by him

  5. Couldn't agree more. Just think popularity wise people may be overestimating him. I think West Holts is perfect. Can you imagine stood next to some pyramid hogger talking loudly while he played Rosie, or Tom Traubert's Blues.

yeah I know but that's a problem with the stage itself. He's definitely bigger than WH, and I don't think he'd take up the opportunity to play so low down, nor should he. But yeah he's not the most commercial act at all, and the crowd could well be c**ty.

  6. But the masses don't know they are Waits' originally. Everyone knows Neil young sang heart of gold. Most people think of Jersey Girl and Downtown Train as Springsteen and Stewart originals

and those people don't deserve ears!

God damn I hope he plays Glasto one day!

  7. the more i think about it, the more i want the cure on the pyramid in the dark.

they're an intrinsic part of a lot of us old farts' youth and 'cool' young 'uns like them too. they've a few hits that everyone and their dog knows the chorus to which would appease the pyramid chair-planters.

coming soon: a shedload of cure threads in the hope of making it happen.

  8. If anything Tom has more 'hits' due to the covers people have done. Admitedly, they were a while ago, and shit but the likes of Rod Stewart and The Eagles all had hits with covers of his.

  9. Bigger than Public Enemy or Chic? I would say he'd be perfect for West Holts

He may be more of a cult figure, but I always see him as being of similar size to Neil Young. He's definitely far bigger than the two you listed. Maybe i'm just over-estimating it.
