  1. Did anyone have the unfortunate event of bumping into the manc robbers on the orange campsite. They arrived 3 in the morn and camped next to us. They were mortal on beer and drugs and went on like right t*ts!! They were jumping on peoples tents and were pinching stuff out of tents. Luckily the police saw them and chucked them all off about 3 o clock saturday afternoon. They had pinched loads of mobiles and a also had a big bag of drugs... If they hadnt been kicked off it would have ended in a fight as they were so out of order. On the sunday another group of mancs were chucked off aswell for thieving. There are loads of undercover police around the fest. Apart from that the weekend was class.
  2. As had been stuck in the traffic the police had stopped the searches (got there at 4pm on Friday), didn't have anything on us anyway. What was it like earlier in the day, did anyone get busted and if so what did they do about it and did anyone get searched and still get their stash through?

  3. Oasis were not very poor at Staffs, they were utter DROSS! Chelmsford do not know how lucky they were to have extended sets by Elbow and Snow Patrol, and I'm not a massive SP fan, but had to hand it to them they were superb on Sat night.
  4. This was our first V and maybe we got luck but thought it was absolutely amazing. OK it was a bit of a hassle doing a 1.5 hour trip in 7 hours but with a few beers and plenty of other goers to have a laugh at it just became part of the weekend.

Camped in Green and had planty of space, lively enough but still managed to get some kip (not sure what the massive bang was on Sun night though).

Managed to get right near the front for Oasis and the Killers without too much shoving and I thought they were both fantastic. There were plenty of other acts I would never have dreamt of seeing that were amazing.

Food was what I expected and not really any different in price compared to other outdoor events, managed several burgers, kebabs and chicken and still kept my guts in.

No probs sneaking in booze to the arena.

Talked to loads of sound people and generally was a really eclectic mix of people up for a good time. To say it appeared a very ligh police presence we hung around well past midnight each night and didn't see any trouble, think how many fights you see on a normal Friday/Saturday night in town.

All in all probably the best weekend I have ever spent, loved every minute of it and can't wait till next year.

Come on lets have some more positive stories.

  5. Got 'abused' by a jobsworth steward on the Friday night going into the arena who almost had her hands down my pants and had to give up a couple of cans!! Haha!

Sat and Sun - half a litre of wine (plastic bottle) down my bra, another wrapped in my pac-a-mac bag and one down the back of my shorts!! Much harder to get beer into the arena this year but I managed a bit  ! xx

  6. First time at V so prob going to head to green campsite. Wife thinks we should put a small padlock on the tent to reduce chance of someone going in and nicking stuff, however I think it makes it look like we would have something good in there and be more tempting.

    Is it worth doing?

  7. V website says:

CAN I BRING A CAMPING STOVE TO V? Yes but only the small gas camping stoves, strictly no petrol fueled cookers. We strongly advise you to just bring the small portable BBQ's though.

However I have read people saying they will be put out if lit up and I dont want my sausage soaked!

  8. This will be my first V and want to take a nice little stash of weed to get me through the weekend. Providing I get it past the gates is it best to leave in the tent and risk it getting nicked or taking it into the arena or do they have dogs inside?
