thursday night in stone circle, surrounded by my friends, just felt relief of being there (its been a hard year), and bawled my eyes out! hehe
welled up a few more times throughout the fest thru sheer happiness.
then cried again in the car on the way home cus a horrible lady shouted at me in the traffic jam even though I had done nothing wrong.
(what an overly emotional cry baby lol)

leaving in just a couple of hours.......sooooooooo excited
really should start packing
-
should be easy enough. not a huge amount of people on the weds. just make sure you all got each others numbers etc, and a good meeting point that stands out...like the other stage hehe !

couldnt find a thread on this (no doubt there is one), so how does one keep ones tinnies cold at the festival? hints and tips appreciated
-
your doing the right thing by keeping purse and camera on you. other valuables put in the lockups.
dont worry about gettin stuff stolen. the old advice of leaving your tent in a mess is good advice (whos gna wana route through dirty pants etc) and they might think the tent has already been done.
just chill and enjoy the festival.

some may find this funny, others may not.
upon arriving at my first glastonbury, after setting tent up etc, strolled down to the fairly empty pyramid field. sun setting, birds singing, i spotted a couple having a picnic "how romantic i thought" i then glanced to the side to see a bloke off his tits on shrooms, running round and around in a circle. he then got his hmmhmm out and did a wee, as he was going in circles, gettin nearer and nearer to the couple, until he sprayed them in a glorious shower then fell down arse facing the sky, face in the grass, half slumped on their picnic blanket.
made me chuckle a little inside.

Keef made this handy chart:
-
I dont know how well stocked or even if these places will be open but locally there is:
Morrisons: in Glastonbury (but can pretty much guarantee its gna be busy in there)
Sainsbury's: in Street (the town right next to Glasto)...pretty sure there will be offies in Street as well, but dno how open/well stocked these will be
Tesco: Shepton Mallet (a couple of towns away...doesnt take long and cus its big its probs gna be well stocked...just google map it and you'll find it)
ASDA: Frome (about 13 miles from pilton)
I dno if the offies in Glasto will be serving tbh, so up to you if you risk that.
Failing all of the above come see me when you get to the festival and I'll see if i can sort you out with some good resonably priced booze

Gawd-I misread the thread as willie decorating!!!
-
Just wondering who else has decorated their wellies for glasto?
I know its gna be a scorcher and they probably wont be needed but I always wear them to the fest anyway, and have spent the last hour or so making them pretty, sparkly and ravey!
I now have a wonderful pair of DISCO BOOTS who's with me?
-
get a couple of ciders in you and go watch ferris bullers day off in the cinema marquee thingy! on at half ten i think
-
there is no cure!!
get it every year, around thurs/fri 2am ish (probs cus start drinkin when i arrive weds morning)
as people have said...eat something. stodge helps (gives what's squirting out some sustinance, makes you feel better)
make sure you know the route to the loo really really well...you will be gettin up at stupid 'o clock feeling like your ass is on fire!
have the loo roll by the door of your tent, gota grab and run in these situations
laugh about it, its gna happen so dont let it spoil your festival.
oh and um....WASH YOUR HANDS!
-
My thoughts:
Gazebos are fine, just as long as people expect to have visitors/ passers by. ,
My pet hate is the people that put up Gazebos in the middle of tents, and then ring the whole thing off with that dumb stupid tape, and try to force people to walk all the way round the whole thing.

just found this on another website as well.....I am getting more and more excited...I love Penguin Cafe Orchestra, gonna try and convert my friends...everyone should know how wonderful the music is
-
took a wheelbarrow one year but had to leave it behind cus there was no room on the bus (it was a very sad day)
my friend took a granny trolley last year and that worked brilliantly and fitted in the hold on the way home!
many people took wheelie bins when they first came to be, dont know how sucessful these were, but imagine they fitted a lot of stuff in them.
barrow trolleys are best tho i recks!

first time stewarding for local organisation, gonna be at Park stage...so excited! (hoping not to miss anything amazing on the Friday night tho)

Hey guys, had a sudden flash back to last year.
I think it was the Wednesday or Thursday (who knows what day it is when your at Glasto)
anyway there was a BIG FIRE outside of the festival and you could see the big black smoke wafting over...and I think roads had to be closed as well.
Or did I dream this ?

We've always pitched up in the same place. On the hill next to the Pyramid stage. Near the back in between the pylon and 'fire bucket' thingy (so can find way back)...about 2 rows from bushes so we dont get the lazy people pissing on our tents (this DID happen one year wen we were right next to the hedge...same man did it at least 3 times a NIGHT!)
If your on a hill have your doorway facing horizontally to the hill..like sideways, and slightyl down as well, that way wen you sleep your head is higher than your feet (and it really isnt steep enough to fall out). Also means if it rains the rain wont flow into your tent
There are 3 sets of toilets located pretty much just 5 mins away from us in this spot (far enough from the smell, but close enough after a curry!)
Just remember to have your guys ropes as short as possible, prevents tripping people! And avoid toilets and paths as previously said.
CAMPING AND MUSIC AND FRIENDLY PEOPLE....WHAT MORE CAN YOU NEED

I'm gonna say yes!
They've got the Glasto shaped hole in their schedule, and are doing other festivals...makes sense for them to do the daddy of all festys does it not?
But yeh if they have issues with Glasto then I'm not sure
I sure hope so though...it would make my year

Right.Have done this twice at Glasto for Oxfam now (assume this the organisation you are working for), in 2005 and 2008...

I always give them away!
There is nothing better than giving somebody an unopened glow stick. Their eyes literately light up as it is a foil wrapper and sealed!!! .
I have loads of pink ones this year as well as my usual supply of UK forces ones.
GLLLOOWWWWW hehehe
What have you done today to get ready for Glastonbury 2019?
