    Hello all!

Just seeing the tents have sold out for the camping relax site and I stupidly waited until now to try and get one. Would I get one OK in Hasselt and it is it convenient to get to and from the town from the festival? Travelling over from Ireland so don't really fancy lugging one the whole way haha.

Sorry if these questions have been asked before! First timer and all that

The sports direct in Hasselt is probably your best bet for a tent. 10 minute walk from Hasselt station. They'd have the pop up ones there i'd imagine.

If you don't find any in the centre there's a big decathlon a couple minutes out the road  with a bus or taxi, They have loads of tents there ( was there yesterday)

  2. There are a few free car parks in hasselt centre itself. There are two at the train station on each side of the tracks, the other at the dusartplein and another at the canal(across from the holiday inn).

You can park there all day for free but at your own risk. the rest of the parking round hasselt is paid and the ticket inspectors do the rounds regularly( even towing away vehicles with foriegn numberplates).

If you dont manage to find anywhere to park at the site itself and cant get anywhere close then the station car park would probably be your best bet.The car park i have used on regular occasions is on the spoorwegstraat, this one is right across the tracks from the station so you would have easy access to the buses running to and from the festival.

The best time to get a space there would be in the afternoon as it is used by a lot of people who travel to work by train in the morning.

  3. I've looked through this thread and the one from 2008 and I haven't been able to find anything about hostels. Are there any budget accomodation options other than camping? I'll be backpacking without camping gear, and would prefer not to spend the cash on hotels.
