  1. I had a nasty shock this morning but managed to blag my way out of it and FINALLY have my tickets.

    I, along with two friends who live in Australia, had our tickets down to arrive at mine (Bristol). They arrive at mine a couple of days before the festival so we usually do things this way.

    DX emailed me a few weeks back asking me to choose a delivery date. I chose one. They attempted delivery earlier than requested and failed, as I was in Barcelona for Primavera. I had a feeling they might do this.

    So we arranged redelivery on all three items for today. Cutting it fine, but you've gotta stay in from 9-5 in case they fancy coming at 16.59 (they delivered one at half eight at night last year, but anyway).

    The guy arrived just after 10 this morning. Awesome! But he asked me for ID for ALL THREE items, even though the DX email clearly stated that redelivery at the original address did not require this. I offered to show him the email but he said not to bother, took my ID for all three and said he believed me. He said they'd had a lot of problems with See giving people vague or plain false information about tickets, delivery and the like.

    This seems to be a recurring theme - they ask you for a delivery date and come whenever they feel like it. And doing it any time between 9-5 doesn't quite work for people who work day jobs and don't drive (so can't get to any of their depots). ID is a problem as well - if they're going to arse about with delivery times then they need to be consistent with what they put on their emails and what the delivery man actually requires!

    So for 2012 I'm hoping they go back to Royal Mail and maybe even try Ticketmaster instead of See (from my experience, their service is a little better and their websites handle higher volumes more effectively).

    Anyway. I have three tickets in my hand now and can sleep a bit easier. Plus, I have the rest of my day off to myself!

  2. I'm similar. Since I first went (on my own, from Australia, in 2004) I've organised just about every year around this festival but with all the balls about my girlfriend's ticket (or lack thereof) situation has kinda stunted my excitement this time around.

    I've got a fair amount of people coming, and a couple of my best friends from Perth are making the trip over for it, which is brilliant. I'm also looking forward to You Can Call Me Al and its palindromic bass solo... but really, I'm nowhere near as excited as I usually am come to beginning of June.

    Excitement, please!

  3. I'd be doing the same. Ha, I am doing the same, but not for me. Good luck. Keep trying everything you can think of. I'm told they're being extra vigilant with checks this year, so be careful if you're getting a ticket with someone else's pic on it.

    That said, I'm told they're tougher with these things on certain gates compared to others...

  4. I'dI'd ring them anyway and see if they have a record of any calls... you don't want them going "oh well, can't get hold of that person, let's try someone else". But then they would've left a message if you have voicemail, right?

  5. Thank you all so much - I'm more than happy to pass the other tickets on if any of us manage to win it - my ticket's already sorted so depending on who wins, that's 2-3 to spread around :)

  6. Wow, thank you all so much, this sort of thing is why Glastonbury punters are the best of any festival around. Respect.

    If they ring you on... Thursday or Friday, I think it is, her name is Sian Conway. I think we have 20 or so entries already from the people we're camping with, so I'm crossing my fingers :D

  7. Yeah I heard about the recycling thing pretty quickly but even by then they'd snapped up all the free spots.

    There's an option of a ticket but I'm 50-50 of the photo on it and fully aware there's major consequences if you get caught doing anything dodgy. I have a couple of contacts in the village who are gonna tip me off if anything opens up but I don't know how likely that is.

    BBC 6Music competition has to be it! IF anyone reads this and takes pity on us please enter it and let me know if you're one of the lucky winners!

  8. I'll spare you the full details but to summarise, seetickets cocked up with my girlfriend's registration and even though we got through for others in both resales, she's now the only one without a ticket, in a group of somewhere between 25 and 30.

    We've tried contacting seetickets, as their staff stalled us and stalled us until after the final resale, and we've also tried the Glastonbury office but neither will help us.

    I'm working every single contact I can think to try getting her in - working, paying, as a guest... but I'm starting to run out of ideas. I've been going since 2004 (I went on my own that year) and even moved to this country in 2008 to be closer to the festival. Glastonbury and her and the two most important things to me, and they're apparently incompatible.

    Anyway. If anyone out there has anything at all they can try, no matter how tenuous the link is, karma will make sure you're sufficiently rewarded (plus we'll get your drinks all weekend!). Please PM if you have any ideas at all.

    ===EDIT===

    If you wanna help us out, please enter the 6Music competition to win FOUR tickets to the fest. That still leaves three others that could go as well, plus we'd buy your drinks all weekend if you could help us out.

    The answer is A ;)

    ===EDIT===

    If you're one of the lucky ones and need any further details, text me on 07790420985 and I'll get back to you asap.

  9. I still haven't quite figured this one out. I have two friends working on a stall in the hospitality area and they've no idea whether they'll be able to wander around the site when they're not working.

    Now from all accounts, the area will be inside the superfence, so I figured they'd be alright. But their boss seems to have the idea it's an arena/campsite deal and says they're stuck in there all the time. Surely not... right? These pictures only confuse me more :s

  10. The ads down the right show up about an inch from the side of the screen and hence cover about an inch of text when you're looking at the main pane. Might have to pay the extra as I only really use this site at work :(

  11. Those of us with older browsers and operating systems (at work, I'll be fine at home) might have to suffer... text gets two, maybe three inches of page width. Hmmm.
