We bought our first pop-up tent last year to camp somewhere for one night. We like to have a decent amount of space for our stuff and a blow-up bed so were a bit sceptical, but I'd use it for a 2-3 day festival, no worries, and would possibly consider it for Glasto if it looked like being a dry year and didn't need the extra space to dry out loads of wet clothes.
There's pop-up tents of all sizes and prices here: http://www.decathlon.co.uk/C-359120-pop-up-tents
Ours was this 4 man one, which they don't seem to have in stock at Decathlon right now, but when they did it was on offer at £54.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/QUECHUA-SECONDS-IIII-DARK-GREEN/dp/B004GDG6ZU
I imagine we'll just stick to our 4 man Vango tent instead, but it's such a pain to put up in comparison to the pop-up

Those dates are a warm-up for Hard Rock Calling on Friday 24th. Hopefully that's the only reason they're over here and stay well away from Somerset.

I've specificly booked a ticket AND SEAT for a certain train. I figure the 4.26 from Paddington will be busy on the Friday. Are you saying this could still get taken?
Worried now..

Can't answer everything but the 'Returning from the festival' bit of this page on the National Rail website may be of some use to you:

Bringing back lemon flavour instead of the godawful tutti frutti would be good.

I took a screen grab when our order went through, but looking at it there is nothing to distinguish it from any other order for 2 tickets. There's no reference to anyone's name, registration number, order number etc, so as far as they're concerned it could be a screen grab somebody else took and proves nothing.

I'm thinking of designing a Glastonbury app, can use location services to find where your favourite band is playing or where your tent is!

Where can I find out if there are buses to/from Hereford? As far as I'm aware they only run from big cities, but I could be wrong?
And not having travelled to Glastonbury by train, if we were to do so then how much waiting would we have at the station for the bus to the festival, and to leave the fesitival site to get back to the station on Monday morning? From what I gather from friends who we were camped with, they had to leave about 6am on the Monday just to avoid waiting for hours to get the train from Castle Cary.
We got up about 8am, packed up, and were in the car and out of the carpark by 9.15am. I'm not really sure why I'd want to spend an entire day with all my stuff, stood around in whatever weather conditions are thrown at us on that particular day, and cramped up in some tiny seat with loads of smelly people and nowhere to put luggage, and pay shitloads for the privilage. That's without even thinking about how many connections by train or bus would be needed, and time spent waiting around in between.
I'm pretty sure I'll be paying the £20 for us to park the car. It's not much to avoid all the inconvenience of travelling any other way.

There's 13 people I'd ideally like to see on the Saturday ,compared to just 9 on Friday and 12 on Saturday. I know I'm unlikely to see anyway near as many as I'd like to but Saturday is the strongest day in my opinion.

Sorry. That 'paragraph' made absolutely no sense.

If you're gonna buy a Tesco one then may as well get this:
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.203-4336.aspx
I'm probably only gonna need it to carry stuff from my car, and the same at Reading and don't really intend to use it for anything else so this sems ideal for fitting everything in

Certainly does. I think that must've been added since I last looked on Saturday, or I just didn't have my eyes open!
Thanks very much for your help.

This my first time at Glasto so was a little bit worried about food but this thread has definitely put my mind at ease, and now I can't wait to sample all the veggie delights on offer. Thanks guys!

When I originally bought my Glasto ticket I had no idea how I was going to get there, but having looked into it a bit more I think driving is going to be the best option for me. However, due to being unsure at the time I didn't purchase a parking ticket. Now I can't find anywhere to get hold of one. Is it now not possible to get one, and if so is it possible to pay when I get there or am I going to have to use some other mode of transport?

there were tickets kicking around at about 5am today, and the link from radiohead's site is still up and takes you through to seetickets. http://www.radiohead.com/tourdates/ obviously without putting in my card details i don't know for sure there are any left in that allocation but there are options for weekend and day tickets...

Depends where you're travelling from, but you need to get to Castle Cary somehow.
