  1. Thanks Cristall. I've got the live acts down now, and sorted out the Giant Street Theatre show as well. It seems a lot more realistic now! I'll change the other ones as and when other acts get announced - otherwise there's a whole load of TBCs!

  2. Yeah, they're much later than what I expected too. That's the stage that is most likely to be wrong because I've not found any concrete times anywhere, or even the order of acts. They're based on Legion UK's 2011 clashfinder though. Hopefully someone who's been before can put me right!

  3. I watched this ([media=]

) yesterday (don't worry, only the first couple of minutes are in German), and at about 38 minutes in he said that they'd considered it but 'the idea hadn't gone down very well' and 'my people, according to the website, they don't want to be followed around, so they don't want people to know where they are. so it's not going to work for me'.

So I don't think we've got anything to worry about!

EDIT: Hmm, how do you stop the video being embedded?

  4. This has to happen. I say I'm going to do it every year, but never do! If it's well organised as it seems to be then I'll have no excuse! There'll be at least four of us up for it.

Jagerbomb for 1 point though? Pah! In fact, the top 3 (jagerbomb, shot, spirit with mixer) have the lowest unit count! Make them doubles I say, although that could get very expensive very quickly!

  5. There are threads on this somewhere and from memory I don't think there is a maximum number of tickets you can buy. If there is, it's measured per card (like 6 per credit card or whatever) rather than address.

You could get everyone to purchase them separately, but you risk someone missing out if they can't get through. The best thing to do (if you trust your mates) would be for everyone to pay you in advance and then you give them all your card details so that everyone can try and get all 6 on their own. Then the first person who gets the tickets immediately tells everyone to stop trying. This way you'll also save £25 because you'll only have one transaction rather than six and each one is usually charged at around £5.

    Good luck!

  6. The last couple of years we've taken a couple of sack trucks with all our stuff on and checked them into the lockups, but each year I see people with wheelie bins and think what a good idea they are. The only weak spot I can see is that the wheels might not be able to take the terrain, specifically the mud (which there never is...).

Has anyone had any experience of them at Glasto or any other fest?

  7. We found it on the Thursday before it was completed. The guys there said it would be completed by 2pm on the Friday which we found very hard to believe because it was still such a building site! We intended to go back once it was completed but kept forgetting- far too much else to do!

  8. It might reduce the amount of cars, but I would think people would still take lots of things they don't really need and then leave them there because they can't be bothered to haul them back on the bus or train. And plenty of people, including me, hang around a bit later on the Monday to blag a few tents, chairs, airbeds, and stoves that have been left behind. If I was taking public transport I would be less likely to do this. So it might reduce cars, but increase rubbish- it's just changing the problem.

I can't see such a large rise in prices though- especially as they just decided to open the car parks on Tuesday

  9. It was disgusting.

I could understand if it was actually art and on somewhere which didn't look so nice or was just a temporary structure, but it was a memorial bridge that had just been completed. Why would you go to Glasto, with all the fantastic things going on, and decide to deface something like that? It's not even like it's going to be there next year!

  10. absolutely brilliant. I've wanted to see them for years and am so happy I finally have. We Come One was immense. The set seemed very short though- around 30 to 40 mins. The BBC video is 45 but that's still far too short! Should've swapped with Gorillaz!

  11. Having sat on the fence on previous years, I think flags really need banning from in front of the barrier at the pyramid stage, rather than just being mentioned on the website. I was in front of the barrier for all three headliners this year, and even that close there were occasions when I couldn't see the stage and then one of the screens was blocked as well. How you would enforce that, I'm not sure.

The Arcadia/ Shangri La area needs changing and expanding again. I think perhaps swapping it with the Common could help, what with the Common being bigger and less popular anyway, but also because it would hopefully cause people to explore that area first before spending half the night at Arcadia. Or just give the whole area another 10 fields...

All in all though, it was still my favourite Glasto yet. I was kind of expecting to be disappointed after the previous 51 weeks of anticipation, so I'm glad to be proven wrong!

  12. I never go to the town. I've considered visiting it at other times, but I don't think it would be a good idea just before or after other than a stay in a B&B!

I think the festival do encourage it though, especially with the close connections it seems to have with the surrounding villages.

This will only be my third Glasto, but it does seem to be changing, and for the better. I think it is getting moree commercialised, but not like Carling sponsoring Reading and Leeds - it's more low level and actually reflect Glastonbury's qualities.

  13. I was listening to Radio1 who said Michael Eavis had done an interview with the Radio Times. Has anyone got the full interview? I can't find anything on either the official site or Radio Times.

Radio1 said that Bono phoned up personally to cancel, and then it was a 'first come, first served' kinda thing with other bands phoning up to headline with obviously Albarn doing so first.

  14. They were giving out free Vitamin Waters in between bands early one day on the Other Stage in '08, a brand owned by Coca-Cola. Of course I accepted it!

I think most people here associate with Brothers cos it's heavily associated with Glastonbury. And it's tasty. What's so bad about associating with brands if they reflect what we like?!
