  1. the one near the beach opens first.

i've always stayed at campfib. first year was a nightmare walking to/from the beach in the heat (although i think that was in the middle of some major heatwave), always had a hire car since then so never had to struggle carrying food/drink... plus you can just stumble back to your tent from the festival ground whenever you want rather than having to trek across town.

  2. I hadn't thought there was any chance of seeing the Ulster final at all, but the 'Irish' bar gave me a glimmer of hope.

On the plus side, in 2005 I was in Rhodes and missed the match between Tyone and Down before Tyrone went on to win the All-Ireland. Hopefully same happens again, but replace Down with Antrim

  3. 3 years ago there was a hardware shop on the main street which sold cord and large gauze sheets 4M x 4M which did a brilliant job fending off the worst of the sun if you string it up between the trees. It's a bit of a ball ache actually stringing it up but once you do it pays off in spades, so much cooler, so much shadier ! The 4x4 Metre one covered our 5 tents and the space in middle easily.

If the shop is still there it's towards the festival end of the main street, left hand side ( as you look toward the arena ) a bit before the Irish bar but they do seem to be on a semi permanent siesta and are open for an hour or so in the morning and then again in the late afternoon.

  4. If you're flying with Lyingair from Liverpool to Reus, you might want to check your flight details. A few of our customers who booked a while ago have just found out that they have changed the departure time without telling anyone (oh, what a surprise).

Flight FR9824 on 13 July now leaves at 06.40am and arrives in Reus at 09.50am instead of 12.40pm. Return flight times on the 20th have also been changed and the plane now leaves at 10.15am

We've added an extra bus at 1130hrs on the 13th from Reus airport to Benicassim to make sure you don't get stranded, though - full details on our website here.

    Derm :P

  5. im in process of booking festivals bus from valencia at min aswell.

some friends went last year and said its much easier and more straight forward going with festival bus as its door to door service

it cost's $27 euro's return with the booking fee. they run every hour on the hour till 10 pm and takes about an hour you book it from http://club.fiberfib.com.

  6. Alright guys...this is my first ever time at a festival, actually it's my first time camping anywhere, so Benicassim seems like it'll be a bit of a shock to the system!

All over the internet people are complaining about how difficult it is to camp in the intense heat, i'm a regular to spain but would it be better to stick with a hostel or hotel?

Also, any rumours of more bands? I heard a few- libertines, daft punk, prodigy, bon iver, MGMT (some a little tiny bit more farfetched than others obviously...)

i'm so jealous of everyone's cheap flights, i live in Belfast so we booked with Aer Lingus. was NOT happy with 200 quid!

  7. hey, anyone know what the deal is with getting euros and money, for example i dont want to be taking over all my euros and having to take them about with me all day, is there somewhere to cash travellers cheques nearby or anything like that ?

also, is there security boxes for passports, plane tickets etc, and how much are they ? cheers !

btw, anyone with any idea how much train tickets cost from barcelona to madrid would be much appreciated, cheeeeers !

    x

  8. I always try to speak at least a few words in the native language if I can.

I find the locals appreciate it and it does lead to hilarity at times.

When in Paris I tried to order a bottle of wine at reception and the woman didn't speak any English. My French was VERY bad so it almost became a game of charades. BUt despite it all we both laughed and I got what I wanted.

If I had just shouted it in English instead of attempting bad French they would not have been nearly as impressed.

On another note: Anyone know how different South American Spanish is from the local dialect in Beni? One of the people I am travelling with learnt his Spanish in South America, so want to know if that is fine, or if it is much different.

  9. I would be sooo happy if Bloc Party and Kasabian played.

Would be great if a load of slightly older bands all turned up. Bit of nice easy listening mixed in with some pumping dance and my week will be complete. Then just add Pendulum and all would be perfect.

  10. I have heard a few people saying how they hired cars. I checked this site

    http://www.doyouspain.com/reus-car-hire/reus-car-hire.htm

Anyone know what their reputation is or could recommend a good hire car firm that I can get from Reus.

There are 4 of us and this seems so much cheaper than getting a bus down. Only worry is us getting lost/damage to car while we are at festival. We will only really be using it for getting there and back.

    Cheers all
