  1. Volbeat and Die Artze are confirmed by the organizer for Friday or so I read with Google translate from German sites. It's unknown which of them will headline though... not that I care for any of them:))))

nin and Seeed are the only bands for Sunday by now. Seeed are quite big in Germany but I doubt they'll be higher than Trent in the bill... waitin' for next announcements

  2. On the official web page is said that there will be total of 40 bands. This is not a lot having in mind that it is 3 day festival with multiple stages (in the press release is said that the switching between stages will be easy which means that there will be at least 2).
If there are indeed 2 stages this makes around 6 bands a stage a day which will allow for day bands to play 60 min (not 40 or 45 as in some other festivals) which is very good.
I'm really interested on which the final headliners will be... SOAD are definitely closing the Saturday with The D and Deftones before them.
Probably second headliner are the Artze and I hope they play on the 16th (Artze are playing Highfield festival on the same dates so we will see how the'll arrange the dates). Volbeat are also playing on Friday or Saturday as they have another show for the Sunday. This will still leaves place for NIN to close the fest on Sunday... I would really like to see them headline...
  3. quite right @Cristall

Shame that NIN will not be appearing at Sziget. This fact alone seals my non-attendance to the fest. Nevertheless I hope the upcoming announcements are better than what we have by now.

  4. In the official festival poster (updated today) http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151611419222059&set=a.10150783965437059.470846.48023162058&type=1&theater

Editors are written with the biggest letters between Biffy Clyro and Blur...

We had this guess in the same tread some time ago... and I know that Sziget said that Editors will play "in the early afternoon" but seeing today's announcement I think that things can change...

I'm very happy I still don't have tickets.

  5. I think that only the smaller bands can be ruled out from the Lola line up. When it comes to bigger bands and headliners I believe there is no problem for them to travel and for the festival to afford the transport expenses At the end of the day the 2 festivals are not in the same days.
... ... or I'm just trying to find out excuse not to rule out nine inch nails...:(
Wondering if Sziget sold enough tickets to afford such delay in the (big names) announcements. I know that in previous years they announced quite later but in recent years the festival competition in general became furious. There are lots of new festivals (example: rock'n' heim) and all other August festivals already have quite strong line up-s...
Also as @PastCaring suggested they may have budget cuts or something. Nevertheless this should not affect the main stage acts. At least not from marketing point of view. Legendary festival or not - Sziget cannot afford to cut big names cuz the fest will lose credibility very fast - especially in people who are going to festivals mainly to see live acts (like me), and not only to get wasted and pass out In the early afternoon. With that said I'm sill confident they'll pull out good names.
We will wait and see... Just hope for announcement before 5 May (when they increase the price) because there are other good alternatives like Pukkelpop for example who also deserves my - "August festival money" ...:))
  6. I have a friend who wend to the fest few fears ago and when I asked him about the "alcohol problem" he indeed said that they were drinking by their car.

I'm going with a car this year and if the situation is as tight as everyone are saying here - most probably we'll do the same. I've never been to this festival, but the way I see it - it's small (50k people) and nothing should be very far... neither the camping or the parking.

Firstly let's hope for good weather cuz if it's raining like I heard it was last year the alcohol will be the least of our problems:)))))

  7. Few decent acts but nothing to get you excited.
Considering that there is just one headliner announced by almost mid March it could only mean that they're still negotiating or have nothing special by now. Having this in mind it's indeed very possible that one or more of these acts to become headliners on a later phase - for example Editors. There is no point of hiding big acts when most other festivals (maybe only Pukkelpop is exception) have announced the big names in their line up-s.
  8. Nine Inch Nails confirmed one date on Germany' festival Rock'n' Heim - 16-18 August. Fingers Crossed for Sziget too!!! Suddenly this became highest priority! If Sziget don't confirm I'll skip and find them elsewhare ...

  9. I think the Killers will Headline on the central stage whether we like it or not. Google them and see - They are the hot shit right now. According to Rolling Stones they have the best video and record for the year. Personally I don’t agree but who cares.

To me Slipknot will also close one night on the central stage. As it comes to the third big headliner I think Limp Bizkit or Manson. I really hope for Manson though.

Placebo will probably also play on the central but during the day… just like 2 years ago. I expect Prodigy on the Alternstage.

It's true we have 40 or more bands coming but i think we have all headliners here.
