  1. yes and Im giving my point about the how people were dealt with, and answering another comment back to me in this thread so whos not reading them properly?

can I see the difference? yes , can you though?

the example of how the security acted , what they say as you put is :

and you compare it to if you were to say to me

well the main difference there is you would be makeing a personal insult by name calling for a start and making a personal insult to my intellegence?

but the security senario you put isnt making any personal insults , or name calling , there just not smiling or saying please !according to the examples you give above,

like I said in earlier posts , if there was a specific complaint of rudeness , like a personal insult then I would more than likely be posting on here in agreement thats out of order ...... but there no mention of any thing specific so therefore I think if its a case of no smileing , gruff voiced and lack of p's and q's then I think theres not really much to complain about,

I dont need the security to know when to put a please and thankyou to have a good time at a festival. It wouldnt ruin it for me if they didnt .

:) and im sure theres a dig involved with the spelling there but no I dont think your rude , it made me grin cause I would atually agree , my spelling is shite .... yeah I am a thicko when it comes to it .... some may be offended but Im made from tougher stuff, than to be offended by someing as trivial as a comment on spelling and my braincell , theres far more important and serious things that go on in the world.

  2. NB to barbiesnightmare: If you're interested I can pm you details of the new San Quentin theme park that has opened down the road from me.The security is great , no reported stabbings and the "Stars in their Eyes" Man in Black quarterfinalist is supposed to be playing next week. No need to worry about what kind of dogs they have, the're all killers and will do so if they dont like what you're wearing or how you smell. On the downside the food is supposed to be a bit shite and always comes on a tray with safety knives Also, security don't guarantee your safety after lights out :)
  3. like it or not about my opinion on the dogs its got nothing to do with this thread, Ive got your goat there and boy dont I know it.

and my point about the muggings, 50 dead etc, is that as there wasnt any of these over any of the years of endorset so then the security obviously did there job ... happy and polite or moody and gruff and even while being rude , either way with or without dogs , smiles or sulks from the security its been a pretty incident free lot of festival , the security did there job.

now take the security away , happy and grumpy and your going to be at risk of an incident or 2 or 3 or who knows how many , you obviously take me literally on my muggings 50 dead and cant see that its mearley an exagerated example to make a point, so in simple terms without security checking smiling or not there would be some problems with punters over the course of the weekend. to what extent you dont know.

your coming across as if you seem to be under the illusion that endorset is above ever having the slightest bit of trouble happen there.

you may well be and quite obviously are someone who is not in the buisness of being trouble of any kind and nor do your friends ..... great , me too , but it takes all sorts to make a world and not every one is nearly so socially balanced and behaved as yourself.

Im not disgracefully dissmissing the claims of the rude security Im simpley fed up of always hearing them dissed over most of the time quite minor things,

the fact of even bringing into it your thought process of why you were picked out to be searched, the 'was it the pronghorn t shirt half hearted comment ; that got my goat basicly, obviously there is a part of them that does mind being searched over the next person, Its not something that s ever in my head when im searched Im no different to anyone else there , why should I be.

now i did ask how they were rude because the manhandleing is not exactly clear or the extent of the rudeness.... If she had said the security either pushed me into a corner and told me to shut the f**k up or trod on my toe and laughed , nicked my money or whatever then I may well think... yes that is out of order ... (I can sense your going to take me to the word here on the pushing and toe treading bits again rather than just the drift of what Im saying )

if the complaint had a bit more substance than... hey thats awful, but a generlised , rude , agressive , intimidating can be interpreted at different levels needed to qualify.

if a simple thankyou and smile was all that was needed to have make it all right then it cant have been that bad a treatment.

and I think they were pretty low key , Ive seen plenty more of a presance at most other events Ive been too.

  4. "

how rude exactly was it ? or was it they were abrupt and to the point to get the search done quickly so they can move on to the next?

mabey they should give everyone a balloon who passes the search ? "

No. No balloons. But I paid good money to enjoy myself, and not get spoken to like the poop on someone's shoes. No. No balloons, but I've been to loads of gigs and footie matches and festivals, and this IS NOT the norm. Mostly, security companies teach their staff to be courteous and positive. It's part of their legal training. It inflames things if they don't act as equals, as must, I'm sure, occurred to you during the build up of this thread.

I suggest you weren't there last year, or the year before, or the year before that, etc, etc, to see a perfectly happily balanced festival, security wise, and in all other ways.

I'm 42. I am responsible for a family and a career. So no, no balloons. Just no unfair meanness and thuggery. thank you so much.

  5. WTF indeed! Wrong wrong wrong. I'm really too old for all this bo770cks. I can't stress enough how much respect I have for Flounder et al, and how much I owe them for some truly fantastic memories. I've been coming for 4 years, and it's been perfect, brilliant. But I WILL NOT tolerate police state mentality on, of all places, a little pocket of people celebrating the ideals of the old community spirited free festivals. Endorset was one of the last venues to survive the rape of the corporate sponsored outdoor events that are laughingly still referred to as festivals. F"[k1|\|g attack dogs and handcuffs. Huh????

  6. Couldn't agree more. While I understand that the organisers have a duty to the local council to obtain the licence, and that it is in everybody's best interest to enjoy an event like this in a safe and responsible environment, I was bewildered and eventually pretty disgusted by the attitude and actions of the particular security company hired to police it this year. For example, I saw people being body searched at the gate, even after they'd promptly and happily turned out all their pockets. Is that really necessary? The guards were really rude and physically rough handed, you can forget all about customer care and P.R. All the people they did search were summoned over by an "Oi! You!", not an "Excuse me". I paid £75 to get spoken to like that?! Another nice touch was three guards descending on a small group of young men, snatching their beers off them (SITE beer, NOT smuggled beer) and throwing it away, then ejecting the blokes, who were just normal, quiet, not obviously underage (and, latterly, rather confused!) young men. I really could not see what they had done to incur such seemingly misplaced wrath. All this led me to see the security guards as an intimidating presence, and not what a festival should be about.

This is wrong. Really wrong. Don't endorse this behaviour, guys, I beg you. You all know it's not meant to be like this.

Can I at least suggest you try another security company next year, one that has been trained to do their job in a more professional manner?

Do Not Want, as they say.... kthxbai
