  1. Not that I'm taking my kids to Glasto (it's my holiday lol) but the letter we got about unauthorised absences said that they couldn't fine you unless you took off more than 10 consecutive sessions - which is 5 days. This was also debated on Radio 5 a couple of weeks back and someone (a head if I remember rightly) said that it was actually 20 sessions before they could fine. Might be worth checking with the school to see what the actual rules are - if it is 5 days then take them without permission and all it will do is show up on their report and tbh that's not really important at 8 as they aren't going to using it for job hunting in the future are they.

  2. 2 laptops (one hard wired the other on wi-fi), tablet on wi-fi, phone on next doors wi-fi plus ringing and not a sniff - then a call from my brother who tried by chance and he had got through and ordered for us (he's not even going). 6 tickets in the bag. And at the same time "I Wanna Be Adored" came on XFM - was dancing round the room big style!!! And to top it off, just done another level on Candy Crush lol

  3. After hours of reading through these forums I have concluded that multiple tabs is bad but pressing the f5 key is good. But would I be better off hard wiring my laptop to my router or is wi-fi going to be fine - ie will I get a mirco-second faster speed and therefore increase my chances on T-day?

PS had a dream last night that I was chatting to James Allan from Glasvegas at Glasto, so hopefully it means i'm getting a ticket (not that bothered about Glasvegas mind)

  4. Unfortunately by the time I worked out how to use this backdoor it was all over twitter (even though I spotted Neil's message as soon as it was posted - my crap IT skills lol) and never managed to get on :(. Worse still was that my brother got on and put registration numbers in and one of them was invalid as when it had been texted through to us a 9 had been put in as an 8 - gutted!!

  5. Got the site busy screen up at around 8.30 and then never saw it again - I had 2 laptops (one on home and one on mobile broadband), and tablet, mobile phone and was ringing from the landline constantly. My sister also never got on but a friend got to the registration number page but no further and my brother did (wasn't even planning on going so rang me for the rest of our detail)s but when he got past the registration number page and it said one of the numbers was invalid - once we sorted that out (when it had been texted to me a 9 had been been put in as an 8 - gutted) the tickets had gone. Makes me wonder if we had had the correct reg number if he would have been able to get through :( Congrats to all those that did get tickets though but can't say I've been in the best of moods today.

  6. Got my tickets ordered for it - looked at going last year but couldn't manage it in the end so really looking forward to it, especially the headliners. Will be nice end to the summer after the mud of Glastonbury at the beginning (with working at Summer Sundae in the middle as well).

  7. Just printed off Halvin's Clashfinder and am giddy with excitement. Everything is ready to pack when I get in from work tomorrow and then I'll be ready to go once I've dropped my kids off at school on Wednesday morning (having them overnight as won't get to see them for over week as got to go on a training course on the Tuesday I get back).

Roll on Wednesday, it's going to be a good 'un - I can feel it in my water

  8. What did we do before Google?

This will be first Glastonbury as a single guy - split with her in doors in January (she also didn't bother paying the balance on her ticket and is now kicking herself - ha ha) - so whilst I am intending to go there to enjoy myself I wouldn't be adverse to 'coping off' if the I happen to meet someone who is into middle-aged, slightly balding men with beer bellies! However, there is a permanent solution to the cheese conundrum - it's one advantage of been circumcised!

  9. At his Hull gig in 2009 he definitely played Ask, Panic, How Soon Is Now, Girlfriend In A Coma as well as coming on to This Charming Man. So yes he is playing Smiths stuff as well as his own work, which consists of many classics as well.

  10. Just heard this on XFM - result. Hadn't made my mind up about going to see U2 but will deffo be there now. There are so many clashes on the rest of the line up but this one is no contest - MORRISSEY, MORRISSEY, MORRISSEY. Last saw him in Hull and yes he plays Smiths stuff as well - still have part of his shirt that he threw into the crowd just before Ask!

  11. Out of our group of 7 we are throwing 2 back into the pot - the wife and I split up this year and she's said shes doesn't want to go now and her mate has said she would love to but has a new fella and he wants to go away so she can't afford it - crap excuses for both of them me thinks but hopefully they will be picked up by someone who appreciates the place. No way am I giving up my ticket, even though on 1st April I have to also find £590 deposit and £550 first months rent on my new place plus all the other crap I have to pay (maintenance, etc) and by reckoning only have about £50 a month to live on once I've paid the rest of my bills!

  12. It's going to be a very expensive day for me as I am moving into a new house then so have to find £590 deposit, £550 rent and then the ticket on top. We are sending 2 back as the missus and I have split up since getting them and shes not coming (I'm keeping the £40 as paid it out) and her friend has dropped out, so good look in the resales anyone trying.

  13. Saw the dates for Morrissey and got really excited - both Grimsby and York and easy for me to get too, especially with the added bonus of Mona supporting York. Looked closer and realised I would be down on Worthy Farm at the time, so yes would love to see him make the trip down for a Sunday slot, but in reality can't imagine it happening, especially as he is down to play Bradford on the Monday. Real shame

  14. There is a big Glastonbury shaped hole in their tour schedule - Thursday in Glasgow, Monday in Birmingham, the Weekend empty. Oh please I hope not! Mind you, there will always be something brilliant on elsewhere, although the wife might want to go and see them.

  15. I agrre with denwyn - tried it and thought it was all a bit crap, the music was not my thing and just loads of rubbish stuff going on and people pretending they liked it so they looked cool. Would much rather there was somewhere late on playing a good indie disco (like Baggy Mondays on the Thursday) where I could have a proper dance to music I like and leave places like Shangri-la for those that want that kind of thing. That is my main gripe about Glastonbury, once the main stages shut down it is mainly about dance music.
